Every now and then when the last customer has gone home and the noise of the day has faded away! I get a chance to sit in the garden and take it all in.
Right in the middle of Newport, there’s this little haven of peace and quiet. Designed beautifully by Joules, cared for day in and day out by a team who give it their all and more 😬 and brought to life by the people who pass through it.
Most people see it when it’s busy, full of laughter, conversation and the odd debate over whose round it is. 🍻 But there’s something special about seeing it at night, when all that’s left are the echoes of another good day and the quiet reminder of the hard work that made it happen. 💪
It’s easy to forget, in the rush of it all, just how much effort goes into creating those moments. The early starts, the late finishes, the unseen graft that keeps everything ticking over.
I probably don’t stop and appreciate it often enough nor do I thank our staff enough for the hard work and loyalty they give ❤️
Not a bad place to sit for five minutes and remind yourself how lucky you are—and how much you owe to the people who make it what it is.
