In a moment of angling history 🎣 Nathan Buckingham has banked THE biggest barbel the UK has ever produced 🤯

The 23lb monster was the result of incredible effort from Nathan, which has seen him bank other big fish of 19lb and 20lb just last season 👏👏

We think you'll agree that it's fitting to see his efforts finally rewarded with the biggest in the land 👊

Good few litter picking sessions done! Even in the pouring rain and into dark! Huge thanks to Ian the old bailiff for his help. All pegs & paths now done in the woods completely. Sadly far too much litter found, cans and tins thrown in the bushes which is unacceptable! New signs put up and there's even a bin on the lane by the pegs. Get caught littering its an Instant Ban!!
Couple of pegs left to do this week/weekend.

Sleek, strong and built for fast currents - the common barbel is a true canal and river specialist. Once found only in east coast rivers, they now swim in places like the Severn and Trent, where their whiskered snouts forage along gravelly beds on our network.

Cracking day yesterday for Andy and his son Kian, who caught his first ever River Severn Barbel! They fished Stony Bay peg (down the ladder) and they had plenty of decent sized Chub & Barbel. Well done Kian 👏🏻 🐟🐟🐟
