These two gorgeous girls are working their last two shifts today and tomorrow before heading back to university. 🍺👋🏻 Libby and Chloe have worked so hard for us over the last few months and always with such positivity and a beautiful smile. 🥰 They are two very special members of the team and we will really miss them. 💫 But don’t worry, they will both be returning to the Tap and we shall see them again very soon. 🙏 Back you go into the big wide world ladies. 🌍 Work hard and of course, play hard too. ✨ We look forward to your return. ♥️

Please note that our Sunday Street Food menu isn’t available today - it will be back next week. But you can order from our Bar Bites menu and there’s also our usual delicious selection of in-house made sausage rolls, scotch eggs, cobs and pork pies in the fridge. 👍🏻

It’s the last day of Lichfield, Sutton & Tamworth CAMRA’s beer festival today so get yourselves round there. There’s still plenty of beers to choose from. 🍻🍺
Just a reminder from us that there is no burger menu tonight or Sunday street food tomorrow due to staffing, but they will be back on the menu next week. Our usual Bar Bites menu and fridge selection is still available as always. 👍🏻

Set in Stone…
For those who haven’t noticed our latest Tap tweak, take a look at the mantle above the log burner. You’ll see our name set in stone, having had a skilled Stone Mason chisel each letter by hand. The process was fascinating to watch and we’re over the moon with the results!
The stone itself was identified by the stone mason as originating from the same north Staffordshire quarry as the castle. The castle stone would have been one of the many mortar casualties from over the years in a process called ‘calving’ and, as we’re at the bottom of the Motte, our previous tenants would have ‘recycled’ the stone.
It’s great to have another piece of history making up a part of the Tap. If only stones could talk…
