(25)

The curiously named Angel and White Horse is an amalgamation of two roles, the Angel associated with old inns and their religious origins and the White Horse, the huge shire horses used to pull the brewer's dray. Tadcaster was on the coaching route to York and this 18th century inn would have tended to some of the fifty coaches that passed here every day.
