So you may have noticed we’ve installed a 1970s Amstrad music system here in The Tuppenny. We’re easing ourselves away from endless streaming platform algorithms to embrace the magic of tangible music, complete with a playable stash of records, tapes, and CDs.
At the heart of this setup is our own Swindon Music Archive. Collected by Tuppenny Owner Jamie since the mid ‘90s, this collection spans over half a century of local music, from iconic Swindon legends like XTC to ultra rare, limited run ‘bedroom press’ tapes from local scene heroes who deserved the world (more on this collection to follow)
These aren’t untouchable museum pieces. They’re meant to be heard, and loved. Drop the needle, load a cassette, or slide in a CD next time you’re in for a pint.
