Brewing an American Pale Ale today. Hoping for a grapefruit bitterness with fresh pine from the Centennial and Chinook hops.

We're fermenting with Kveik Voss yeast which is a Norwegian strain that loves high fermentation temperatures.

Well, we'll find out in a few weeks.....

The hospitality sector has come together to launch – a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.

Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, we’re working alongside trade bodies across the sector, such as and , hospitality communities like , and you, businesses across hospitality, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality.

Our sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, our customers, our high streets and our local communities.

This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.

EXCITING OPPORTUNITY

Richard and Jo at The Pilot in Mumbles are looking for a person to fill a key role within the business. This role is unique within the business and the successful candidate will be trained to cover every job at the pub. This person will be a key, indispensable member of the team.

This person will need to be physically fit and the job will require some flexibility in working hours. It will be best suited to a local person. Whilst experience is helpful, character and trustworthiness are more important.

The job is wide ranging, from bar tending, accepting deliveries, cellar management and even work in the brewery. Physical fitness is essential. References for excellent sickness and absence records will be required. The right person will have plenty of time and training to grow into the role, if required. This is a permanent, long term position.
