It is with a heavy heart and formidable sadness that we announce the immediate closure of The Jam Jar.
Unfortunately, due to rising operational costs, the impending increase in business rates, turbulent trading trends and a frankly senseless, illogical and unreasonable electricity contract forced upon us, it has been deemed that the most responsible course of action for the company is to cease trading this week.
We would like to extend our thanks to the incredible staff, customers and artists who have made The Jam Jar such a wonderful and incredible place to have drink, unwind and spend time enjoying the company of others over the last three years.
We do not leave bitter, but instead, in the spirit in which we opened, thankful to have spent time in your wonderful company and to have been given the opportunity to try something a little different and we hope, memorable.
This isn’t goodbye forever, we hope. But it is farwell for now…
