Congratulations to SwanScene in recognition of their continued work and support in representing the q***r community in Swansea and beyond!! 😍 🏳️‍🌈

Genuinely blown away to learn that I’ve been nominated for the Trans Ally award!

Finalists will be announced on 20 October. Knowing that people took the time to nominate me though is genuinely very humbling 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

This Sunday, join us in the heart of Swansea to make our voices heard against the far right and stand up for the belief that refugees ARE welcome here! 🕊️💙

We believe in a community built on love, inclusion, and diversity. The far right wants to spread fear and division, but we know that together, we are stronger. 💪🏽✨

Every voice matters. Your presence is powerful. Let's show the world that hate has no place here. 🌈🌟

How amazing does this look - a local, independent cinema supporting a Welsh film about q***r love!! Also, (as if you need any more reasons to go and see it) it's currently got a 100% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes from pre-release reviews!! https://tinyurl.com/97h554c

It's a big decision for a small independent cinema to show a film like this when there are many other, possibly more economically viable options, so please, please, please, pop along to the Gwyn Hall in the next few days and show your support. 😍🏳️‍🌈

There are loads of reasons why I love my job; the building is beautiful, proper cool stuff happens inside, and the people are some of the most lovely and interesting characters you could ever wish to meet.

This Friday (19th July) there is a new film opening in our cinema, and I can honestly say I have not been this excited since we were still allowed to be excited about the latest Harry Potter. This new film is called Chuck Chuck Baby and “is a film of love, loss and music set amongst the falling feathers of a chicken factory” (ffilmcymruwales.com). It is set in Wales. And is LGBTQ. And it looks bloody brilliant.

There are only 3 cinemas in Wales showing this film (as far as I can find), one in Cardiff, one in Pwllheli, and ours, The Gwyn Hall in Neath. In times where big budgets mean more than substance and story, I am so super proud that where I work has chosen to show this film.

I’m gonna be really honest here, I am trying to get as many people to come and see it as possible. If we don’t support these films, they’ll be even harder to find. I’m not saying this because I work there, but because this kind of thing is so important: To support LGBTQ stories, encourage q***r representation, support Welsh filmmaking, and local, independent cinemas. And the film genuinely looks so good I don’t want anyone to miss out! I don’t ask for favours often but I would love if you could share this, tell people, get the word out as much as possible. The film is for everyone, not just the q***r community (or Welsh people). And our building is a safe and welcoming place for everyone. I really hope this gets the attention it deserves.

Have a look at the trailer. Get your tickets. Tell everyone. Please and thank you 💜
