Hiya folks, long time no speak.....most people are aware that we closed our lovely little pub down in Jan this year.....we have kept the page going as want to use it in the future for a 'Wrinkly' reunion event where we can hopefully all get together again, we never got chance to 'leave with a bang' so we plan on doing that soon 😀 😊 ❤
We have had lots of messages and comments checking in with us and we really appreciate the love and support we have.....we could have survived Covid as a business but we genuinely had time to reflect and realise that we wanted certain aspects of our life back and that included our weekends 😀 😊 ❤
We are loving our new roles and we are enjoying spending quality time as a family 👪 😊

Stock taking at the pub....full 9g unopened Masterpiece IPA available, 5.6%, short date but been kept in a cold cellar, once tapped lasts about 4 to 5 days so ideally would be better to go to a pub/restaurant doing click and collect to shift it faster....paid £80, reasonable offers please? PM if interested 🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻 🍺 WILL NEED THE EMPTY BARREL BACK TO RETURN TO BREWERY

We are asking for donations per single measure (minimum of £3 each) and ALL funds raised will be donated to the RBL 🌺❤

This year has been a weird one to say the least and lots of special occasions have been cancelled/delayed because of it. This is one that must never be forgotten and we can all find our own adapted way in these unprecedented times to acknowledge our heroes ❤ 🙌 🙏

We have taken delivery of more new real ales this week.....🍺🍺🍺from a business perspective though when it comes to these beers there is a limited shelf/cellar life and in such unprecedented/uncertain times we have to remain business aware and savvy.
We are only going to be tapping and serving 2 of them this weekend (until they run out of course then more will be available), if this area moves into Tier 3 the reality for us is forced closure and wasted beer....its just not an option for us, hence this decision.
We still have plenty of other quality drinks available including Poretti and Mahou lagers, Shed Head IPA, Blue Moon 🌙 💙 Belgian White Beer, Aspalls Cider, a variety of flavoured Rattler 🐍bottled ciders and our long standing choice of fruity Lilleys Ciders 🍎 🍏 🍐 🥭 🍓
Add in our extensive range of quality rums 🥃gins 🍸and other premium spirits and wines and there really is something for everyone 👍🥰😉😘
This weekend we hope you appreciate our real ale choice of the Newark based Milestone Brewery's Honey 🍯 Porter 🖤 4.9% and Azacca Gold 💛 a 4.2% single hopped aromatic ale 🍺

My little road trip/brewery visit yesterday resulted in 3 more real ales selected for this weekend 🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻 🍺

The Heritage Brewing Company, established in the heart of the National Brewery Centre (Museum & Visitor Centre) has a mission to recreate classic beers of the past for a modern audience.

Utilising an impressive 25 barrel brewery built in 2011 and situated in the heart of the Museum, The Heritage Brewing Company is combining the history and atmosphere of the National Brewery Centre with state of the art equipment and modern brewing techniques to produce a range of beers which recreate brewing history and at the same time provide a range of tastes and flavours of the highest quality.

We have had the Masseys 4.0% Mild and 4.1% Golden Bitter on before and they SOLD OUT fast so we welcome them back alongside the fabulous 5.6% IPA ' Masterpiece.' 💛🤎💛🤎
ALL tapped and ready to go tomorrow so hopefully we don't run out again! 😜🤪😵🥴

What a fitting send off yesterday for the lovely Maureen Greaves. Family and friends gathered to pay their respects at the Crem and then back at her fave little community pub TWD 🐕 where 🍺 a few glasses of Cherries 🍒 and Berries Cider were consumed in her memory 💘
Thanks to all those that attended and stuck to the Covid restrictions, sad to see family members having to sit apart and wearing masks 😷 but you all did her proud 👏 ❤
Heartfelt thanks to everyone for contributing to a collection for me too 😥 😭 very overwhelming and emotional but even though it wasn't expected it was truly appreciated.....
RIP now G'Ma, you were and always will be loved ❤ and missed 💔 ###xx

Morning folks!! Well firstly it has already been a cracking weekend, thanks to you all for adapting so easily to the mask wearing 😷 and for all your continued support despite the pressures and changes upon us.
There was a bum on every available seat last night so my solo waitressing skills were truly tested to the limit 😆 🤣 this definitely helps getting in my daily 10,000 steps target as I feel like that was achieved per hour! 🤣🤪😷😬
Your patience is appreciated as obviously with this service comes a little more time needed per customer but I think I coped quite well 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Due to demand the real ales 🍺🍺🍺🍺have now completely SOLD OUT, apologies, thats 3 full barrels depleted since Friday and I only put 1 on at 5pm yesterday, nothing else suitable available until we get our delivery in the week 😥 😔 BUT we will be FULLY RESTOCKED today with all the premium lagers, ciders, bottles, etc....so plenty of quality alternatives 👌 🍷 🥂 🍾🍹🍸🥃

Tomorrow I have the honour of being included in the limited funeral party attending on behalf of the lovely Maureen Greaves 💔💔💔💔💔

Last weekend the Heritage traditional beers SOLD OUT FAST so this weekend we have 2 more quality real ales from the same popular and local brewery 🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻

Charrington Oatmeal Stout 4.0% is well balanced and nutty 🌰 with a hint of treacle 🤎

Charrington IPA 4.5% offers a malty aroma with resinous English hop notes. It has a pleasant hoppy bite leading to a smooth malty flavour 💛

Please remember its masks 😷 on entry and when not seated, we have our QR barcode posters ready (you will need the NHS Covid 19 app downloaded to scan the bar code to check ✔ in).

Make the most of being waited on folks, table service is the way forward, we are adapting and we appreciate your patience and respect during this time 😀 😊 🙏

Good morning folks, so in light of the latest announcement that affects the hospitality sector i just wanted to confirm a few things to reinforce what needs to happen but to also put it into perspective 😘🤪🙄😷

Firstly, the 10pm curfew will not affect our usual opening hours as we have been closing before this since reopening. 10pm means served, drank up and off the premises by this time which we fortunately have been in a position to encourage and achieve over the last few weeks anyhow 😀.

Secondly, the 6 at a table rule, this still applies and has been working fine for us so far. This means no rearranging of furniture and table hopping from one to another unfortunately 🙍‍♀️.

Thirdly, table service only, the reduction in capacity meaning we are FULL once all seats are taken now will enable table service to be provided easily. We have one big main room which we have a clear panoramic view of from the bar so we can spot immediately when you enter, take a seat and want to order a drink 🍸 😉.

Lastly, the wearing of masks 😷 staff will now be wearing masks at all times and this now extends to customers (on entering and when moving from table to toilet 🚻 and again when leaving). Obviously when seated and drinking the masks can be removed.
With table service and no moving from table to table or standing at the bar permitted the wearing of masks is kept to a minimum so hopefully this won't put people off coming to see us.

So thats the changes and tweaks to be made, we are still able to be open for now and so we need your custom to keep that an option. We are still the friendly community pub that people love despite these unprecedented times 😥 😔 😟 🙁.
Whatever your views are on Covid and the restrictions we have to remain positive and follow the rules or risk hefty penalties and fines. My business head thinks differently to my personal one but we are ploughing forward and adapting and we thank you all for returning to see us and respecting the new rules.

Opening from 2pm today....the dark ales are proving as popular as ever so this weekend we have on Mr Grundys Blighty, a 4.5% Mild Ale 🍺
We also have another new gin, Sea Queen 👸 Tropical, a 42% quality refreshing drink, served with a mixer of your choice 😋 🍸 🍊 🍋🍈and fresh fruity garnish ❤
Today we have also taken stock of 3 new real ales from a local brewery that really offers what we always have attempted to deliver by way of real ales, a traditional Bitter, Mild and Oatmeal Stout from Heritage Brewery, based in Burton Upon Trent 😁🤎🍺

We are still testing the waters 💧 re how many real ales are tapped and ready to go so PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HERITAGE ALES WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE ONCE THE OTHER REAL ALES ARE GONE (the sooner the better if you all pop in asap) 🤣👍🤣👍🖤🤎❤
