Sheepfolds Stables - Sunderland's hottest new food, drink and leisure venue!

Opening in 2024, Sheepfolds Stables is Sunderland’s new hotly anticipated food, drinks and leisure venue. The transformation is being led by Sunderland and Ulverston based Architects and Engineers, Building Design Northern. Located in the Grade II listed stables, Sheepfolds will be home to the finest independent food and drinks vendors, retailers and lifestyle businesses. Perched on the river’s ed

ge in the shadow of the Stadium of Light, Sheepfolds will form part of Riverside Sunderland, one of the UK’s most ambitious regeneration projects. Sheepfolds will play host to music and performance on a large outdoor stage, and include a large open-air yard where a range of pop-up events, markets and daytime activity will take place.

While it is free entry and everyone is welcome to enjoy the atmosphere across the site, you can also upgrade your experience with a reserved table in either The Wine Bar or The Taproom.

Wow… what a weekend for Sunderland! ❤️

From the incredible sunshine, live music and all the excitement around BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, to Sunderland securing the win and a place in the Europa league… the city was absolutely buzzing 🔴⚪️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us across the weekend - whether you came for the live music, food, drinks, football, celebrated a wedding with us on Saturday, or simply soaked up the atmosphere.

And finally, a massive thank you to our amazing team who worked tirelessly all weekend to keep everything running smoothly. You’re all stars 🌟

Final game of the season. Big screen. Bank Holiday Sunday. ⚽️

We’re bringing the atmosphere all day long with North Road on the main stage for pre-match (1–3pm), Sunderland vs Chelsea live on the big screen (4–6pm), followed by Ana Muñoz Duo on the main stage (6:30–8:30pm) and Radio 1’s Big Weekend streaming on the big screen from 8:30pm 🎶🍻

And we want to say a huge thank you to all the supporters who have joined us pre and post match throughout the season - it wouldn't have been the same without you ❤️

Big Weekend plans? We’ve got a line-up you’re going to love! 🎶🍻

Whether you’ve got tickets to Radio 1’s Big Weekend or not, Sheepfolds Stables is the place to be.

Join us for live music, great food and drinks before making the short walk over Keel Crossing to Park Lane for the shuttle buses to Big Weekend - or stay with us all weekend long as we stream some acts live on the big screen!

Then on Sunday, we’re showing Sunderland vs Chelsea live on the big screen for the final game of the season. 🔴⚪️

A quick reminder that there will be temporary road closures in place across Sunderland this weekend due to the Sunderland City Runs. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

If you’re visiting Sheepfolds Stables, please allow a little extra time for your journey. The stadium car park remains open and Keel Crossing will be open for easy pedestrian access from the city centre.
