Another monster live stage en route!

This week at Waterloo House, Alex Chapman & Friends presents Open Stage.

If you holler, pluck, bang or rattle, you are most welcome on the stage where you will find a PA, microphones, a delightful bar and a willing audience for you to freely strut your stuff.

The stage opens at 7pm to encourage our younger wannabes along early doors. I'll be on hand to plug you in, turn you up and offer words of encouragement should you need them. If you just sing and need a guitarist to accompany you, well, I'm there for that, too!

That's Waterloo House in Nailsworth, this Thursday 18th June.

2-fer-£10 cocktails and beers are served 5pm-8pm
A delicious selection of burgers and hotdogs are grilled 5pm-9.30pm

The legendary Half-Price Club returns from 5pm–8pm with half-price food and drink throughout the building.

Then from 8:30pm, the magnificent Roaring Noughties are back. Think postmodern jukebox meets Nailsworth. Requests are actively encouraged, and they’ll no doubt put their own unique spin on whatever you throw at them.

Our Pride Celebration takes place on Saturday evening.

Expect colour, music, good vibes and a celebration of the wonderfully diverse community we have here in Nailsworth. More details to follow shortly, but we’d love to see you there.

The return of Christo’s Big Pub Quiz from 7pm–9pm.

Two hours of quiz-tastic fun, questionable general knowledge and fierce local competition.

It’s also Father’s Day, so if you’re looking to treat Dad to a brunch, burger, coffee or pint, we’d love to see you.

👀 And finally…

Those of you who’ve visited us recently will know we’ve been expanding our food offering. Brunch is flying, burgers are still proving popular, and over the next few weeks we’re hoping to introduce a few more evening dishes to the menu.

To be fair, we’d rather have friendly customers asking the same question three times than miserable ones asking none at all.

Waterloo Weekly #7

What a week!

Thursday saw our first brunch buffet, which went down an absolute storm. Huge thanks to everyone involved in making that happen. Then in the evening, Alex Chapman & Friends welcomed Paul Hopson for an evening of Sinatra and classic American standards. A lovely atmosphere, great music and plenty of happy faces.

Friday started quietly enough before turning into the usual madness. The Half-Price Club was absolutely rammed, and Ironwood Sky were phenomenal as always. Plenty of food, plenty of drinks and a brilliant crowd all night long.

Saturday brunch was busy, and in the evening we hosted DJs as part of a charity event organised by Claire Frances. It was fantastic to welcome so many new faces through the door, alongside plenty of familiar ones. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported such a worthwhile cause.

Sunday was our busiest Sunday brunch and lunch service yet, which is really encouraging to see. The new signs and menus seem to be helping more people discover what we’re up to, and it’s lovely to see the daytime side of the business continuing to grow.

I’ve spent most of the weekend in the kitchen, and it’s been great to see the food flying out both day and night. Thank you to everyone who’s joined us for a coffee, brunch, burger, cocktail, pint, live music night or just a catch-up with friends.

Your support genuinely means the world to us and to all the independent businesses in Nailsworth.

See you next weekend.

And remember: whenever you can, support local. The money stays in the community, supports local jobs and helps keep places like ours going for another week. Starbucks paid no corporation tax in the UK in 2024. Just saying.🍻

And you go from hero to zero in approximately 0.3 seconds.

Lexie was absolutely flying…
Making drinks.
Serving customers.
Looking like she knew exactly what she was doing.

Then came the flambé orange.

And suddenly I’m standing behind her wondering whether I need to update Indeed with another job advert. 😂🔥🍊

In fairness, no customers, staff members or cocktails were harmed during the making of this reel.
