🚨 THIS FRIDAY NIGHT 🚨

We asked Delicious Dee to record a quick introduction for his monthly residency at Waterloo House…

Unfortunately, he informed everyone that we are located in Stroud.

We’ll forgive him because he’s an exceptionally talented musician. Just this once. 😅

From 8:30pm onwards, Delicious Dee returns with:
🎸 Brilliant guitar playing
🎤 Fantastic vocals
🎶 A mix of classic covers and original music
🎛️ Loop pedal wizardry
🍻 Excellent Friday night vibes

If you’ve never seen him perform before, you’re in for a treat. He’s one of those musicians who can hold a room with just a guitar and a microphone.

And don’t forget…

🍔🍻 The 5–8 Club is on beforehand with 50% off all food and drink between 5pm and 8pm.

So come down early, grab some food, a few drinks, and then stick around for what promises to be a cracking evening of live music.

Just remember…

📍 Nailsworth.
Not Stroud.

We’ll make sure he knows by the end of the night ❤️

Thursday night incoming!

Thursday night incoming!

This week at Waterloo House, Alex Chapman & Friends presents Dr Grrr's bass man, Dave Pila. When he's not performing blues surgery on his low end frequencies, it turns out he's rather a nice guitar player, too! And so he joins the Waterloo family for a 40-minute turn singing familiar tunes for us all to sing along to.

The Scrabble Rabble are slowly returning from their travels; The Party Potters are still on theirs; The Bar Hogs have travelled the length of the beer pumps; The Sofa Surfers are travelling along the leather road; Suzie & The Dadshees are travelling back from the orthodontists.

Captain Christo is glad of a cloudy sky; Sister Georgie has kissed the sky; and the Yootiful Blisters have kissed this guy.

2-fer-£10 cocktail hour is 5-8pm

The Electric Burger menu is grilled 5-9.30pm

Music Begins 8pm

We look forward to seeing you there!

For those still on their travels, tune in live at:

VAT IS THE PROBLEM.

Three pubs, restaurants and hospitality businesses are closing every single day in the UK.

Not because people don’t want to go out.
Not because the industry isn’t working hard enough.
Not because customers don’t care.

Because the numbers are becoming impossible.

Hospitality businesses pay 20% VAT on what they sell. At the same time, we’re facing rising wages, rising National Insurance contributions, rising utility bills, rising supplier costs and increasing business rates.

Many venues are busier than they’ve ever been.

Think about that for a second.

Busier than ever.
Working harder than ever.
Employing fewer people than ever.
And still struggling to make the sums add up.

That’s why so many businesses end up on VAT repayment plans. That’s why there are entire industries built around lending hospitality businesses money to pay their tax bills. It’s not because operators are reckless. It’s because cashflow gets squeezed from every direction.

At Waterloo House, we’re currently paying back both VAT and historic electricity repayment plans whilst continuing to invest in the business, our staff and our customers’ experience.

We’re not asking for special treatment.

We’re asking for recognition that hospitality is one of the country’s biggest employers, one of the biggest contributors to our town centres and one of the most important social industries we have.

A permanent reduction in hospitality VAT to 10% would:
✅ Protect jobs
✅ Support independent businesses
✅ Keep prices fair for customers
✅ Encourage investment
✅ Help regenerate town centres
✅ Keep pubs, cafés and restaurants open

This isn’t about helping owners.

It’s about helping communities.

Because once independent venues disappear, they rarely come back.

If you care about pubs, restaurants, cafés, live music venues and local high streets, now is the time to speak up.

WATERLOO WEEKLY #5 🍻☀️

Another week done and a slightly strange one at that.

Thursday was our first week opening from 9am, and it was great to see people making the most of the extra daytime hours. We also welcomed Bea to the team, who’ll be taking over from Leah over the coming weeks before heading off to university later this year.

Thursday night’s live music was lovely as always, with Maxine joining Alex Chapman and friends for a relaxed evening of music, burgers and drinks.

Friday was flying. The 5–8 Club did what it always does and the building stayed busy long after the offers finished, which is always great to see.

Saturday was unusually quiet, with the Champions League Final dominating the evening. It happens. Hospitality is never predictable.

Sunday more than made up for it. Despite an early kitchen panic, the team smashed through a busy brunch service before our busiest Cocktails & Jazz evening yet. A packed room, great music and fantastic atmosphere all round.

We’re also now seeing the benefits of the new menus, signage and brunch offering, with lots of new faces coming through the doors every week.

As always, thank you to everyone who supports us. We’re still paying back the damage done by last year’s roadworks, alongside VAT and electricity repayment plans, so every visit genuinely makes a difference.

See you from 9am on Thursday ❤️

COCKTAILS & JAZZ 🎷🍸❤️

Well… that was special.

Last night was our busiest Cocktails & Jazz evening yet, with more people through the doors than ever before for a Sunday session.

Great music.
Great atmosphere.
Great cocktails.
And a venue full of people enjoying themselves on a Sunday evening.

That’s exactly what Waterloo House is all about.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, grabbed a drink, supported the musicians and helped create such a fantastic atmosphere throughout the evening.

But don’t forget…

We’re not just here for one Sunday a month 👀

We’re open every:
🍳 Thursday
🍳 Friday
🍳 Saturday
🍳 Sunday

Serving brunch from 9am, cocktails in the evenings, live music, great beer, coffee, wine and all the good things in between.

So if you’ve been meaning to pop in, come and see us.

The support means the world to a small independent business like ours, and we’d love to see your smiling faces a little more often than once a month ❤️

See you this week.
