WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK AT WATERLOO HOUSE 🍻

THURSDAY — LIVE STAGE 🎶
Alex Chapman & friends, 7–11pm.

7–8pm is our Introducing Hour. Young musician, first time performing or a little nervous? Come and play a couple of songs. We’ve got a lovely, receptive crowd, and Alex will help you get set up.

From 8–11pm, the main event kicks off with plenty of guest acts and the usual Live Stage goodness.

Come early: 5–8pm, two cocktails or two pints for a tenner!

FRIDAY — HALF-PRICE CLUB & ROARING NOUGHTIES 💃
5–8pm: half-price cocktails, draught b**r, soft drinks, house burgers AND hot dogs.

Then from 8:30pm, the Roaring Noughties return for another classic night of request shenanigans and dancing nonsense.

Fridays are getting properly busy, so come down early, grab some food and settle in. This one should be a belter.

SATURDAY — PARTY TIME 🎉
We’ve got a party upstairs and another lively evening ahead.

SUNDAY — CHRISTO’S BIG FAT QUIZ 🧠
7pm. Cash prize for the winners, cocktails for second place. Round up your team and let’s do it all again.

BRUNCH & DINNER 🍳
Brunch: Thursday–Sunday, 9am–2:30pm.
Any bacon sandwich, sausage sandwich or breakfast brioche comes with a FREE COFFEE. Breakfast sorted.

Dinner: Thursday–Saturday, 5–9:30pm.

Behind the scenes, we’re looking at online bookings, a loyalty card for our regulars and takeaway ordering over the next month or so. Watch this space.

Christmas is creeping up and the diary is getting pretty full. Thinking about a Christmas party or get-together? Get in touch while we’ve still got space.

We’re also exploring another Sunday afternoon music session for the new year. More on that as it comes together.

It’s been a good week of building plans and getting the right people in the right spots. Now for a big weekend.

WATERLOO WEEKLY 🍻

Well, that was another properly busy weekend.

Thursday night with Mansfield Smith was fairly quiet, but brunch was really busy; which was brilliant to see. That’s why we’ve opened for more daytime hours: to bulletproof the business a little. Strong brunches help balance out quieter nights.

And brunch really is starting to fly.

Friday was busy, Saturday really busy and Sunday absolutely rammed. The colder weather is definitely helping, and it’s great seeing so many different people coming through the door.

When things get busier, the systems have to keep up. Sunday’s service was a proper challenge, so we’re upgrading a few bits of kitchen equipment and tightening up our processes. Just ironing out the things that become surprisingly hard work when lots of orders arrive at once.

The result should be better food, happier customers and my blood pressure remaining within the normal human range.

Friday night was fantastic. Karaoke was off the chain and everyone seemed to have a brilliant time. The second Friday of every month will become our regular karaoke night—provided people keep turning up. If you sing it, they will come. Or something like that.

Saturday brought two parties, a couple of birthdays, plenty of food and a great deal of drink. A really fun evening, and lovely seeing everyone enjoying themselves.

After Sunday’s enormous brunch, we had a strong afternoon of drinks and cocktails too.

Every week brings more people through the door at different times, and the business is starting to prove what it can become. We’re recruiting a couple more people and building the front-of-house and kitchen teams we need to keep everything running smoothly.

The team are coming together nicely, the atmosphere has been brilliant and we’re delighted with how things are going.

A massive happy 39th birthday to the wonderful Kayleigh! 🥳🎂

Kayleigh has been a mainstay and supporter of Waterloo House since the day we opened, and her whole family are an absolute bunch of legends. She’s raised two incredible sons; well, one incredible son and one nightmare child, but we’ll save that conversation for another day… 😂

She comes in every week with the lovely people from Winslow House and is always full of happiness, energy and joy; even when she doesn’t get the final karaoke song she’s been desperately waiting to sing!

Whether she’s here for brunch, drinks, dancing, singing or simply a good catch-up, it’s always an absolute pleasure having her with us. The whole gang at Waterloo House always look forward to your visits.
