Jazz Stroud is a festival that evolved out of a network of musicians that frequented many of the Jazz, Soul, Funk live events and Clubnights at SVA in Stroud, an artist led space and studios created for the production of arts. Jazz Stroud is now working towards it's third weekend of live and recorded music with a programme that relects the wide spectrum of this genre, from jazz acoustic to hip hop to electronic dance. The Jazz Stroud community is growing and the year round programme is puctuated with taster events leading to a full line up at the end of May in verious venues in Stroud Town Centre.

The Will Gregory Moog Ensemble first performed together in 2005 as part of the Bath Festival. As one half of the electronic music sensation Goldfrapp, the keyboard-player and composer Will Gregory is one of the UK’s leading advocates of using synthesizers and electronic instruments to create new sounds and reinvent old ones. The band perform a mixture of specially composed music, transcriptions of classical works, and their own versions of music from popular culture and film scores. For this special Halloween performance they will be reimagining John Carpenter’s iconic scores alongside Bach’s works and others

John Coltrane 100 Anniversary in the round- Goods Shed Stroud with Craig Crofton Sax: Craig Crofton I’m incredibly excited to announce a run of dates celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of John Coltrane.

Coltrane’s music has been a huge influence on me ever since I first picked up the saxophone, and this tour will explore the full breadth of his extraordinary legacy — from the power and intensity of his early work to the spiritual depth and transcendence of his later music.

Joining me will be a fantastic band featuring Anders Olinder, Pasquale Votino and Paolo Adamo, with special guest Marvin Muoneké appearing on selected dates performing music from the legendary John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman album.

The tour culminates on September 23rd, 2026, at The Glass House, St George’s Bristol — the actual 100th birthday of John Coltrane, falling on the autumn equinox. A truly special and auspicious occasion to celebrate one of the greatest musical visionaries of the twentieth century.

Sax Pax For A Sax - Moondog & The London Saxophonic With Will Gregory - Goods Shed Stroud 26/9/26 - 13 piece ensemble with 9 saxophones, led by Will Gregory, explore the canon of influential American composer Moondog (aka The Viking of Sixth Avenue), the blind American musician and composer, who influenced everyone from Leonard Bernstein to Philip Glass.

In 1994, 5 years before his death, the blind musician, composer, and performer Moondog collaborated with London Saxophonic, recording Sax pax for a Pax – an album blending classical & jazz. The album marked Moondog’s re-emergence into the American jazz market. In this special performance, London Saxophonic bring these extraordinary compositions back to life.

Squid Soup + Jason Singh improv with Infinite Clouds.
This Thurs 17 Sept we welcome sound artist, composer and nature beatboxer Jason Singh for a live improvised performance developed in response to Squid Soup’s Infinite clouds installation.

Jason will improvise alongside the installation, combining voice, spatial audio, field recordings and live plant bio-sonification. The performance explores the interconnected relationship between sound, light, technology, plants and the surrounding environment, with each element informing and responding to the others in real time.

This collaborative performance offers an opportunity to experience Infinite through sound and light, while exploring new approaches to interspecies communication, environmental listening and live sonic interaction.

Christ-StĂ©phane Boizi - 6/11/26 Goods Shed Stroud. Trombonist, composer, bandleader, and a Tomorrow’s Warriors Emerging Artist, Christ-StĂ©phane Boizi is already making his mark on the London jazz scene, but his reputation is set to soar with the news that he has signed to Mark Kavuma’s Banger Factory Records label, with his debut LP As The Spirit Leads scheduled for release later in the year.
Boizi’s sound is steeped in the hard bop tradition - carrying influences of the legacy of by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Horace Silver, and Jackie McLean. With his compositions he creates his own a sonic exploration of his close personal connection to the music of the Black Christian Church together with that hard bop sound.
Christ-Stéphane is also member of the acclaimed Nu Civilisation Orchestra, and was a featured soloist in Mississippi Goddamn, a celebration of Nina Simone at the Royal Festival Hall, he has also performed with Brazilian maestro Arthur Verocai at the Barbican.
This performance is part of Tomorrow’s Warriors’ Warriors Rise initiative, which sees the acclaimed jazz talent development organisation support three emerging Warriors’ artists, including Christ-StĂ©phane, across a seven-date run of UK gigs, providing tour planning and marketing mentoring.
Warriors Rise is supported by Music Venues Trust, the Stanley Thomas Johnson Foundation and is a PRS Foundation Talent Development Network Partner initiative supported by PPL.
