The Suzuki Fishing Team tackle tope in Scotland! 🦈

Held at Clashwhannon Holiday Park and Restaurant, the Clash Tope Competition recently challenged anglers to hunt for the longest tope in Luce Bay across a two-day event.

Organised by Suzuki Fishing Team member, David Lonnie, the event was attended by many keen boat anglers, including Squidward 3 Fishing adventures, who travelled over 500 miles from Southampton to compete!

Many Suzuki outboards could be found powering the fleet, offering fuel-efficient running for the long days on the water.

Overall, 245 tope were caught, measured, photographed and safely released. The longest tope measured 168cm and was caught by the event's winner, Stuart Atkinson 👏

We will be open today from 4:30pm for drinks and so you can stock up on any fishing goodies you need from our tackle shop 😁.

Food will also be available to dine in on Friday, Saturday and Sunday too 🥧🍕🥘

Clashwhannon Small Boat Tope Competition 2026

What a great weekend 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🛥️🎣🦈

Many thanks to everyone who came and joined us for this competition 👌 this year we had teams from Scotland, England and Wales fishing 👍 the weather was definitely a game of two half’s with Sunday being the better day. 33 boats fished the competition and on the Saturday we caught 125 Tope and 14 Huss then on the Sunday we had 119 Tope and 11 Huss, Well done everyone 👏

Congratulations to Stuart and Richard on Solway Venture who won the competition with a Tope of 168cm.🏆🎣
I would now like to say a massive thank you to our sponsors Suzuki, Lowrance, Cox & Rawle, Mustang Survival and Angling Live as without them this event would not be what it is today 👏 I would also like to give a big shout out to Darren, Caz & Luke aka Team Squidward for all the help and support they give us for the events and also a big thank you from Alba who really enjoyed the two days fishing with you guys ❤️👌
