It’s not something we ever wanted to say, but unfortunately, we’re having to close our kitchen for a few weeks.

With team members currently on holiday, a couple of recent departures, and ongoing challenges with recruitment, we’re afraid we don’t have the team in place to run the kitchen to the standard you deserve.
Like many in hospitality right now, we’ve found it very difficult to recruit—with trial shifts missed and even first shifts unattended—making it incredibly tough to build a reliable team.

We want to say a huge thank you to Hope and Jake, who have been such an important part of our kitchen. We wish them all the very best in their next chapter—you’ll both be missed.

This isn’t the end of food at The Red Lion… far from it.
We’re already planning a kitchen refurbishment and investing in new equipment so we can come back bigger, better, and more exciting than ever. Think fresher dishes, a stronger offering, and something new to look forward to…

The best Breakfast and coffee in Amblecote coming your way soon.

In the meantime, the pub is still very much open—drinks flowing, doors open, and the same warm welcome waiting for you.
