We need to let you all know, that today our hearts are truly broken, as we said our last goodbyes to the most beautiful and beloved girl that graced our world this last 10 years.

Indeea was as much a part of our work as our lives and we know she gave as much pleasure to you,our community, as she did to us. We thank you all for the pets, treats, kisses, waves and honks over the years.

It was an honour and a privilege to be her humans and we will treasure every memory she gave us. She battles hard through her illness and never lost an ounce of the spirit that made her unique.

Wherever you are with loved ones on this romantic day, please raise a glass to our girl and a life well lived.

We don’t post so much now, but that does mean we’ve forgotten you all! You’re still a community we feel part of and we treasure the memories you all gave us.

We hope you all passed a very merry Christmas full of good cheer and good beer, and are ready to welcome to new year in equally good measure (we recommend that measure is a large!)

We would like to dedicate this post to our pal Ben, who went to sleep for the last time over the holidays, after a brave battle with old age. We were honoured to be your friends and have your cuddles, and we are sure no doggo will ever nudge us in the groin with a ball in quite the same way again!

Thank you for all the positive comments and compliments that have been left on our previous post. It’s a huge privilege to know that we will be missed and we will cherish the memories we have made with you all.

Particular thanks to Draycott Arms Darts Team who played their final home game last night. We have enjoyed hosting all the teams over the years and we hope that there will continue to be a space here for you. Special shout out to Andy & Laura without whom the team could have fallen by the wayside.

Following on from our ‘bombshell’, here are some answers to FAQs!

Who is taking over? Will it still be a pub?

The new landlords of the Arms are a fabulous Brother and sister from Birmingham. They are young and full of passion to make their first venture a success.
The Arms will be closed for a while for them to restyle it to suit their needs and will reopen in September as an Italian restaurant.

What about you and Brayn? Where are you going?

Absolutely nowhere! We have only rented out the ground floor and we will continue to live on the first floor and run the holiday accommodation we recently developed.
Our selfish intention in all of this was to take our personal lives away from the hospitality lifestyle so I’m afraid you won’t find us in others eateries. I could be persuaded to be privately hired for occasional events though!

Will the name change?

We aren’t sure on this one just yet. There will be new social media and website pages though, and when the time is right we will use ours to point you in the right direction.

I have a gift voucher, what should I do?

Firstly, try to use it this week! If that’s not possible, we will ask the new landlords to accept any of the few that are still out there when they are open and we will come a suitable arrangement with them in that regard.

Anything else, just inbox us or stop by for a pint and a chat!

Many of you will know that we have been looking for one or more passionate individuals to take over at the Draycott Arms, and continue to build on the community-based business we have strived to create.

Many of you will also know by now that such persons have been found and an agreement reached.

So, with mixed emotions, we need to let you all know that we will be shutting the doors on our time running the Arms after Friday (29th) and handing over to some fabulous young people chasing their dream,just like we did 7 years ago.

There’s lots more to tell but we think that’s enough for you all to digest today! We hope to see as many of you as we can squeeze in over the course of our final few days, and we will share everything we can about the next chapter at the Arms along the way.

More than anything, we’d like to see you and thank you in person. It’s been quite the adventure and you’ve all been an important part of that.

New culinary ground for me today! I’ve never worked with hot-water crust pastry before so fingers crossed these pies turn out! If I’m lucky, we’ll be teaming these with some piccalilli on a lux ploughman’s platter. Bring on the !

With the jubilee safely behind us..we are turning our attentions to the next local events that we are proud to be able to support...

The is a major event in Draycott's calendar and we will be cooking up a storm handling the bar and BBQ all weekend again this year! Hope to see you there!
