Middlesbrough October 20th
We still have tickets for The Impact of Silence on October 20th.
Closing the day will be Cath Easton. As a former Detective Constable Cath has operational experience of the connection between childhood trauma and vulnerability in adulthood. For over 27 years she worked as a Sexual Offences Liaison Officer engaging with victims of r**e and serious sexual offences. She specialised in the management of complex victims, building rapport and trust. Whilst working on cold case investigations into historic r**es and high profile investigations within Northumbria Police R**e Investigation team, she has seen first-hand the impact childhood trauma has on a person’s vulnerability to further abuse. She completed a BA (Hons) in Education and Training in 2005 and a further B.A. (Hons) in Applied Investigation in 2011; focusing on police interview assessment of vulnerable victims. Her skills in the field of r**e investigation were recognized in 2012 when she received the High Sheriffs Cup Award for 'Outstanding Female Officer' at Northumbria Police's Excellence Awards. Later the same year her work was nationally acknowledged at the Police Federation Detectives Forum where she was presented with an award for 'Services to Detectives' for her work within the field of r**e investigation and training. Cath’s continued contribution to improving services for vulnerable victims resulted in her being a finalist in 2017 Pride in Policing Award for a Lifetime Achievement Award. She is currently looking to further embed her operational knowledge with academic study.
