End of year thank you!
What an ace first 7 months we’ve had at Bask. We’re blown away with the response to our arrival in Stockport Exchange Square, literally making some of the best memories with you all.
We’ve hosted 28 Acoustica's, showcasing 101 artists, including a very special set from Liam Fray! We’ve had a right laugh with our comedy night BASK in Laughter, our spoken word night Express Yourself, Baskmaster has landed down as the town’s best quiz night, Boozy Bingo, a DJ Academy, an all day House party in Matinee, we installed 2 big screens and had World Cup fever for a few weeks, we made our very own Bask Gin courtesy of those lovely lot at Stockport Gin, Mrs Boon’s Tea Party has become a first name on the team sheet for our monthly listings.
We sponsored a Stockport County Football Club match (UTH) and also sponsor one of the world’s greatest, William Guy Collar! Talking of the boys in Blue & White, one of our standout nights is definitely Phil Brennan’s 100 Club book launch with current and ex players and Dave Challinor. Having all you hatters in the bar pre and post games is a highlight of the week, we love it! How about those pies from Ate Days A Week!
We did a limited run of tote bags with Hug & Co and Stop in Stockport (sold out in a day), we’ve had countless of amazing touring artists, who played Stockport for the very first time, not only did we do acoustic acts, but we also went fully in on full band shows.
Those pesky lot at the MEN tried to dig us out over a tiny amend to the weekend nights dress code. Who’d have thought a man bag could cause such debate ha.
Back in October we were delighted to win Business of the Year at the Made in Stockport Awards. Such an amazing thing to win after only 5 months, thanks tons to everyone who voted for us. Legends.
And the best bit, meeting all of you!
This is just the start, we’ve so many more plans top bring too you in the next 12 months.
Lastly we want to give the biggest love and thanks to our incredible bar staff, without you we wouldn’t be able to do this, proper grafters. To our sound engineers, graphic designers, Cr8tive Kate for the fantastic window displays, printers, distributors, security, box office staff, reps, artists, DJs, comedians, poets, cleaners and of course all of you that has stepped through the doors and had fun.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow for our first ever New Years Eve Party, and followed by an all day New Year’s Day party. Let’s get at it, 2023 🧡
