A brilliant Saturday of rugby at Stockport, with both our home sides delivering victories! 💪

A massive thank you to everyone who came down to support the lads today. Great rugby, great atmosphere and two big results on home turf!

Some moments remind us that people will always be bigger than the game. ❤️

Today at Stockport, we stood together in a minute of applause to remember our much-loved junior coach, Dan Thomason, who we laid to rest last weekend.

A special acknowledgement to our two teams playing away today, who joined our two home teams in paying their respects. Four teams united in remembering someone who meant so much to our club.

And to our incredible volunteers. After the events of last weekend, we’re reminded just how precious the people behind our game really are. Those who give their time, energy and care, week after week, asking for nothing in return.

Rugby is the game we love. People are what make our club.

Four teams. Four battles. One big Saturday of rugby.

🔥 All eyes on the 1XV today as we welcome Vale of Lune to The Port.

After a challenging week, the lads are back on home turf, united, focused and ready to compete.

There’s a job to do, points to fight for and a performance to deliver. Every tackle, every carry, every minute matters.

💪 Across all four senior men’s teams, the message is the same. Play hard, back your teammates and leave everything on the pitch.

It’s been quite a week at Stockport Rugby Club, but we’re heading into Saturday with renewed spirits, some welcome positive news and four men’s teams ready to get back to what they love. 🏉

The support we’ve received from across the rugby community this week has been incredible. A genuine thank you to everyone who’s stood alongside us. ❤️

After a difficult weekend, we head into this one together, grateful for the strength of our rugby family.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone across the wider rugby community who has reached out with messages of kindness, care and support over the past few days. It has meant a great deal to everyone at Stockport Rugby. ❤️

Now, our focus turns to the weekend ahead, with six teams in action and plenty of rugby to look forward to!

Our U9s are throwing a MONSTER Halloween Disco and they’re inviting all our U6s, U7s, U8s and U9s to join the madness! 🧟‍♂️

Frankenstein, zombies, vampires and a few terrifying rugby players are all welcome! 😂

Club Statement | Stockport Rugby Club | Director of Rugby Tom Eaton

Following the abandonment of Saturday’s 1XV Men's fixture, I wanted to say a few words on behalf of everyone at Stockport Rugby Club.

During the game, one of our much-loved match-day volunteers suffered a serious medical emergency. Our thoughts have been with them and their family ever since, and out of respect for their privacy, we won’t be sharing any further details at this stage.

I want to say a massive thanks to everyone who stepped in to help, particularly Dronfield Rugby Club, who were absolutely brilliant throughout.

I also need to acknowledge our Stockport first team players and staff. The way everyone stepped up and supported each other was incredible, and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this team.

In incredibly difficult circumstances, it was a reminder of what rugby is all about and why this game is so special. We are hugely grateful to everyone involved.

We await confirmation from the RFU regarding the outcome of the fixture, although that is of secondary importance.

Looking ahead to this weekend, we appreciate that returning to rugby will be tough and we are already busy making sure our players, coaches and volunteers have whatever support they need.

Saturday gave a reminder of how important our volunteers are. They give their time and energy for the club, and we should never take them for granted.

Rugby means so much to all of us, but the people involved will always matter more than any game or result.

Above all, our thoughts remain with our colleague, and our friend and their family. Everyone at Stockport Rugby Club is right behind them, and we’re all hoping for positive news.
