With Halloween just around the corner, we have got together some of of the spookiest, goriest and most terrifying events happening in our haunted city. From 80s horror films in Maggie’s to dusting the cobwebs off you love life with speed dating and demonic cocktails served in skulls at The Langham, London is the place to be this Halloween - unless you are in Stamford and then its the Punchbowl!
Almeida
Over at Almeida they have created a cocktail with a real kick to it, the ‘Cosmo Diavlo’. It's a devilish muddle of cucumber, chilli, Russian standard vodka, triple sec, fresh lime juice and cranberry. Forget Halloween chocolate, we want to over indulge in these. The Langham
The award winning Artesian will be serving up a cocktail inspired by the glory and Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead. The Aqui Estoy is a blend of Mexican Don Julio Blanco, strong and smoky Mezcal, together with Shiso from Japan. The best part? Think it is served in a glass? If you want to celebrate Halloween with a little bit of sophstication then head over to The Rib Room at Jumeirah Carlton Towers where they are serving up a gory cocktail. Mansion Bar and Parlour have come over all Harry Potter on us this Halloween as they have created a Goblet of Fire cocktail. As part of their Seedling Series Kids Cook programme, InterContinental London are putting on a Halloween cooking class. Hush
More brilliantly retro than spooky Hush are carrying on with their Classics in the Courtyard with a special Halloween showing of Ghostbusters and naturally they will be serving cocktails to go with it. The Slimer which is a rather fantastic luminous green is spiked with Crystal Head vodka, Midori and Crème de Menthe. You of course have to dress up 1) every who does gets a Slimer on the house, 2) because the best dressed wins a bottle of Crystal Head and 3) it’s Halloween, people! 31st October www.hush.co.uk
Maggie's
For guts and gore and 80s slasher films then it is off to Maggies you go. Walk down those stairs and enter into a decorated lair of rusty wire garlands, gunky sacks of eyeballs bloodied hanging knives and eerie appearances from the likes of Freddy Krueger. Showing flashbacks of terrifying films such as ‘Prom Night’, ‘Friday The 13th’ ‘My Bloody Valentine’ and ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ this is set to be one night of 80s horror. 2nd November www.maggies-club.com
