There is a darts team at the bottom of the bar, and they are ours.

The Surrey Expats play their home league nights here at The Retreat, and the 2026/27 season is under way. Nine home matches between now and the end of January, all on a Thursday, throw from 8pm.

Free to watch. No ticket, no fuss. Turn up, get a drink and stand behind the oche shouting encouragement at people who are considerably better at this than you are.

Halloween at The Retreat. Saturday 31 October. We are not doing it by halves.

5 till 9pm is the family bit. Bring the kids, lose them to the face painter (free, 5 till 7pm) and let them leave looking a good deal scarier than they arrived. Under 18s welcome until 9pm.

From 9pm it is adults only. Long Lost Music bring their house DJs to Staines, the doors close on anyone under 18, and the pub, which has gone to considerable effort to frighten you, becomes a dance floor.

Fancy dress is not optional. Everyone, every age. Turn up in jeans and we will serve you, because we are professionals, but we will be judging you quietly from behind the bar.

Tickets are £5, online only, and numbers are limited. There is no walking up on the night and hoping. Link in bio.

We hate to be those people but you wouldn't believe how fast Christmas tables sell out at The Retreat! So consider this your fair warning that Christmas Day at The Retreat is already almost full and Christmas party calendar is filling out fast!

We have prepared a lovely festive menu for you which you can see on our website, where you can also fill out a form stating your requirements. A member of our team will call you back within a day to answer any questions you may have, charge the deposit fee and book your table if you so wish.

There was an incident at the pub this weekend which we had to call the police to. Arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing, so we can't comment further for now.

Surrey Soul Sensation, 2pm till 11pm. Soul, funk and the sort of records that get people up who said they weren't getting up.

Sat 29 August: Day'n'Nite
Long Lost Music take it from afternoon into night. Dance, house, a proper Ibiza lean once the sun drops. Bank holiday weekend, so there's no excuse and no work on Monday.

Free entry, both days. Come for an hour, stay for seven.

We will never forget this night and we are ready for more! On Saturday, we will have a musical warm up act from Luke Edney, who does a great cover of Wonderwall. He will be starting his set at 7.30 and will finish just in time for the game!
