The Sands Pub - new

Leah and Lyn still visit the Sands lake and go equipped with Swan and duck food.

The two signets are almost fully grown but notably one has been absent over the last week and can only see the three swans on the lake - do we know what happened to the fourth? I'm hoping it has been safely relocated as one of the parent swans seemed a bit bolshy.

9 years since the passing of Tommy Barton and in October, 9 years of the pub being left empty :(

We miss you TB and those Sands regulars who are no longer with us today.

No matter what becomes of the Sands, it holds lots of great memories of times gone by - if you have a favourite memory, please do share 💕

Remembering 4 years ago today the big man left us ☹️ gone but never forgotten, so we went to feed the ducks and swans for him which was a daily ritual for TB. Who remembers “duck and swan food 50p bags 😂 x

I Had a little wander up by ainsdale beach the other week, and round the sands for old times . managed to get some pics on my phone through the gaps in the steel boards on my phone ( lighting not great on the pics obviously) - everything in there exactly how it was 😥

I was up at the sands lake this week and would just like to say we were very sad to hear of the recent passing of Doug aitchinson. Doug was a true gentleman, one of our regular customers for decades, always had a smile on his face whatever the weather, and we would like to extend our thoughts and sympathies to his family 🥀🥀🥀 x
