I asked some of the team to pose in their T-shirts for the VAT’S the problem campaign that’s being run by UKHospitality

We got around 400 signatures from Music in The City day on Saturday.

The team were great at posing and modelling………… and then there was Max who took the whole modelling thing too far…… scroll to the end 🙄

We are so incredibly proud to announce that our wonderful Joe will finally be leaving us today to start his new career in a job he has always dreamed of doing. He’s going to serve and protect and follow his dream of joining the Army.

Joe first applied to work with us when he was just 15 years old. After considering all the paperwork we’d have to fill in for the council, we decided it was probably best to wait until he turned 16.

Joe eventually started with us… 3 days after his 16th birthday. Actually, make that 6 days — because he forgot he was supposed to be on his first shift and was away seeing his dad!

He started with us as a pot wash and was probably the quietest and shyest person we had ever employed. If you spoke to him, he barely made eye contact, and getting more than a couple of words out of him was an achievement!

Fast forward two years and we’ve had the absolute pleasure of watching that shy 16-year-old grow into one of the kindest, funniest and most caring young adults we’ve ever had the pleasure of employing.

Joe, you have genuinely been an absolute pleasure to have around. Whether it’s your completely unexpected witty jokes, your sarcastic remarks, your ability to make us laugh when we least expect it… or your absolutely spectacular lack of common sense — you’ve certainly kept us entertained!

But jokes aside, watching you grow in confidence, mature and become the person you are today has been something we are genuinely so proud of and thankful to have been a part of.

Myself, Rob and the whole team are going to miss you more than you probably realise. You’ve become such a big part of our team, and although we’re incredibly sad to see you go, we couldn’t be happier that you’re leaving us to chase something you’ve always wanted.

Joe, always remember just how proud we are of you.

We have absolutely no doubt that you’re going to smash this next chapter. You’ve got so much potential, and we genuinely believe you’re going to have an amazing and very successful career.

Go out there, follow your dream, work hard, look after yourself and make us proud — although, if we’re being honest, you already have.

From the shy 16-year-old who wouldn’t look us in the eye, to the man now heading off to serve and protect… what a journey it’s been.

Good luck, Joe. We’ll miss you loads.

Now go and make us all proud. We know you will.

Oh my goodness… WHAT A DAY!!

Today just goes to prove that we have the ultimate team of people working alongside us. Rob and I are so incredibly grateful to be surrounded by such a hard-working, dedicated and amazing team.

To everyone involved in organising Music in the City, thank you for putting Southampton on the map and for giving us what we genuinely believe is the best free music event in the country!

To Ludo, The Groove Bakers and every single incredible band and artist who performed today — you are all seriously, ridiculously talented. What a line-up and what an atmosphere!

Music in the City 2026 is a day we will never forget. It was one of those days that reminds us exactly why we love what we do and why having such an incredible team around us means so much.

Thank you to every single customer who came through our doors, supported us, danced, sang, laughed and helped make today so special.

Here’s to Music in the City 2027! 🥂🎶

We had the pleasure of welcoming four-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel last night, who popped in for some food and a drink!

Safe to say, having a former World No.1 through our doors was pretty special!
