That Riviera Touch, The North East Modernist Weekend

That Riviera Touch Modernist Weekend in gorgeous South Shields is the annual venture of the highly successful Get Smarter Mod Club Night based in Gosforth, a beautiful suburb of Newcastle Upon Tyne. It follows the similar attitudes and music policy to it's smaller Gosforth sister, having both residents and guest DJs from all over the UK and beyond, playing some of the finest Mod orientated 45s and

tracks on their original format from the first wave of Mod including Jazz, R&B, Soul, Ska, Beat, Boogaloo plus anything else that they feel fits the bill and can be danced too. We started the annual event due to a massive demand for a more 60's Mod inspired Weekend in the North East, with only a handful of clubs playing Mod inspired music but not one except for our own Get Smarter aimed specifically for the more 'original' Mod audience, we soon realised that our style of event could potentially evolve into a whole weekend of music, fun, scooters and general merriment, so TRT was conceived. The original TRT2019 was a huge success due to the overwhelming support it recieved with all the tickets selling out in just over two weeks, then the feat was repeated in an mindblowing and astonishing 8 days for the 2020 event, which due to Covid 19 is now the new 2021 date, all we can do is thank you for your continuing support folks.
