The man behind the name.
Sir Henry’s takes its name from Henry Gernet, a 14th century knight who served as Sheriff of Essex under King Edward III.
Henry and his wife Joan held land across Aveley, Wennington and Rainham, including land associated with Kenningtons, where the building stands today.

Died: 1345
More than 680 years later, his name still lives on.
