8 Sail Brewery

8 Sail Brewery Real Ale craft brewery producing casks & bottles available to public and trade.

It’s Fathers Day soon (21st June, for anyone else that can struggle with dates!), and if your dad (or your partners dad) loves a good beer, you can do far worse than to buy him a bottle (or more) of our award-winning beers, or a gift voucher if you’d like to give him the choice.

…and like some of us at 8SB, we know that many of you won’t have your father with you this year. Or for many years. So we’ll raise a glass to absent fathers on the day, including yours.

The man with the quiz is back tonight for another great quiz. This month, we’re starting a bit earlier than normal at 6:30pm. We’ll be back at 7pm next month…

We were hoping it’d be warm enough to take into the garden, but we’ll have to be cosy here in the taproom.

Don’t miss it - cash prizes!

We’re excited to announce our 16th Anniversary Beer is here:

Wee Heavy, 8.2%

“The beer is something I’ve been wanting to brew at 8 Sail for a couple of years” explains Paddy Bauwens, our Head Brewer.

“It was decided to do it for this, the 16th anniversary of the brewery, with the ‘thumbs up’ from Tony, just before he retired.”

The style has other names: Strong Scotch and 90 Shilling*, and is the strongest of the scotch ales, comparable in strength to a barley wine, but with a less pronounced hop character.

*many of you will recall Fenlander from earlier this year - an 80 Shilling Beer.

Rich, caramel and toffee with some toasty notes are prominent while some dried fruit aroma is likely detectable for the discerning drinker. The warming alcohol is pleasantly rewarding, and complements the full-bodied nature of the ale.

“I’m really proud of this beer and can safely say it’s one of my favourites we’ve brewed during my time at 8 Sail, and one which I’m sure will make many a happy drinker. “ said Paddy, and if it’s good enough for Paddy it’s good enough for us!

We have Wee Heavy here at the taproom on cask and in 330ml bottles - find us next to the iconic Heckington Windmill. We’re open every day from 12pm.

Mildred here knows a good porter - and so does renowned beer reviewer Pete Brown , who writes regularly for The Times and The Sunday Times and in yesterdays article, Pete lists the six best porters with our own Baltic Porter amongst them.

His is quite the achievement for a little microbrewery like ours, so a big thank you to Pete as well as those customers of ours who excitedly sent us screenshots of the article, and of course our brewing team.

We have bottles of Baltic Porter as well as on cask, so if you’d like to sample some, you can find us next to in Heckington, with a train station right next to the taproom.

And don’t forget to follow Pete brown to hear about his beer reviews and all things beer related.

Mayfest 2026 at - some pics from yesterday, day two…

We’re open again from 12pm today for day three, and it’s all about a relaxed bank holiday Sunday in the sun.

We have the second of our monthly trad Irish sessions in the garden from 3-6pm, and whilst we’ve sold out a few of the guest beers, we still have plenty left - along with our own beers, guest ciders, wine and soft drinks.

Aaaand we have lots of water - might sound odd for a brewery to make a point about water, but it’s going to be blisteringly hot today, so we want you all to enjoy the day. Keep hydrated - which means water, as well as lovely beer!

We’re open from 12pm today, closing at 7pm.
