Saturday 13th June, 7pm ~~ Come & Raise a Glass to Pointon Football Club as they celebrate with their end of season presentation, with vocalist Thea Lovelace joining us!

As many of you know, Pointon FC have joined us on most Saturday afternoons & we have loved hearing how their games have gone, they are now awaiting the 26/27 season.

The evening will be full of celebrations, singing, dancing & a chance to raise donations for their chosen charity The OddBalls Foundation, a top night all round!

Please note, our restaurant and bar are open as normal to the public, with this event being hosted outside & the marquee being up for the footballers in case of poor weather.

Love what we & others do? Then please get behind this campaign & sign the petition to reduce hospitality VAT, our biggest demon in this industry! Thank you, Tony, Katie & our fab The Brass Windmill Team🧡

📢 PLEASE SUPPORT THIS IMPORTANT CAMPAIGN FOR HOSPITALITY 📢

As many of you know, our industry continues to face increasing costs and financial pressures. A new nationwide campaign, backed by leading hospitality figures including Tom Kerridge, is calling on the Government to reduce VAT for hospitality businesses from 20% to 10%, bringing the UK more in line with many European countries.

This could make a significant difference to pubs, bars, restaurants, cafés and hotels across the country, helping to protect jobs, support investment and safeguard the future of our industry.

✅ Please take a moment to sign the petition
(Link in comments! 👇👇👇)

🙏 Once you’ve signed, please:
• Share it with your friends and family
• Post it across your social media channels
• Encourage your teams and customers to get involved
• Share it in local community groups where appropriate

Every signature counts, and the more support we can generate, the stronger the message we send to Government.

Thank you for your support. Let’s get behind our industry and make our voices heard.

Book Club met last Wednesday to review Lesley Pearse 'The Girl with the Suitcase' & although only scoring a collective rating of 2.4, it was by far, our greatest book discussion yet!

We had 3 new books volunteered by members for June's read & review - another Lesley Pearse text 'Betrayal', 'The Spy Coast' by Tess Gerritsen & a returner by popular demand, of 'The Body in the Marsh' by local author Nick Louth author. We also had our first tie-breaker with the chosen book finally being picked as 'The Spy Coast' by Tess Gerritsen!

SOME EXCITING NEWS for the wider public!! Wednesday 24th June's Book Club not only has The Travelling Bookshop returning to us 1-4pm BUT we are also hosting our first local author visit! 1:30-2:30pm, Clive Simpson will be conducting a talk in our main bar on all things author, as well as offering a reading & opportunity to purchase a signed copy of his new published book ! Open to the wider public for £5 per spot (booking essential via messaging or phone call), which includes a hot drink from our café.
