P A R C E V A L L H A L L G A R D E N S 💚

This really is a hidden gem, a true Yorkshire treasure. Stunning from start to finish when you walk around the grounds of Parcevall Hall.

Beautiful terraced gardens, the most epic views down the valley and over to Simons Seat, a waterfall, a tarn, orchards…. The list goes on.

And if that wasn’t enough then there is a little tearoom at the entrance.

A stunning place to explore.

It closes for the winter so make sure you visit in the next few months.

This walk saves my sanity every time 😅

Fresh air, space for the kids to run and no money spent – absolute win.

An easy 1 mile circular around the reservoir with plenty of little paths to wander, stones to throw in the water and geese to watch.

If you’re feeling a bit cabin-fever-ish, this one’s a beauty. You could even extend it to climb up Embsay Crag or Crookrise too.

E M B S A Y P U M P T R A C K 🚲

The boys have been asking to go to the pump tracks more and more recently so luckily Embsay is pretty close for us.

The pump track in the playground on the Main Street, opposite the Methodist Church is ace.

Recently they have also upgraded the paths around the park by tarmacing them which is great for little ones on balance bikes or learning to ride.

The pump track itself is quite small but great for doing jumps and relatively quiet.

S I M O N S S E A T 💚

A challenging 6km walk but worth every drop of sweat!

Doing the route up from Howgill instead of Bolton Abbey will save your legs and about 2 hours! It is very uphill from the start but once up onto the moors it’s totally worth it.

The route starts from Love Brownies / Howgill Lodge and follows the track up.

The stones up there are great for exploring, there’s a trig point AND you can finish with a celebratory brownie at the end!

Love this walk.

The wall lined path down from Grassington is my absolute favourite.

Walking down onto the footbridge it was surprising how low the river was. So much of the rocks were exposed and it just shows how dangerous it is when the river is raging through there.

Had a lovely wander up the river bank towards the hydro power plant before we decided that actually the stepping stones was the route we wanted to take instead.

So many gorgeous little spots along the River Wharfe in this area.

G A R G R A V E P A R K 🛝

Gargrave Park is one to visit if you haven’t been for a while as it has a revamp in the last few years.

It’s great now, lots of things for all ages even the adults.. pretty hi tech too!

There’s a small free car park which makes it easy to access and plenty of seating/benches so you can take a picnic.

Slides, seesaws, swings if all variety’s, toddler area, mini trampoline, zip line, climbing frame and skate ramps.

S T E P P I N G S T O N E S 💙

We love a good set of stepping stones and these ones at Linton are great.

Large, flat and the water isn’t too deep for the majority so it does ease the nerves a little!

A lovely little circular walk from Linton Falls, down through the church yard, over the river then back up along the Dalesway.

A gorgeous morning out exploring with my little one.

Our go to treat place. Or place when it’s raining. Or when we are hungry. Or when it’s sunny…. As you can tell it’s perfect in any situation!

Too many ice cream flavours to choose from, way too many outdoor playground climbing and sliding spaces, and far too much fun to be had in the play barns!
