June’s Cocktail of the Month!

For the month of June we are offering Strawberry Daiquiri as the Cocktail of the Month. This is a fruity variation of the rum based cocktail Daiquiri. Mixing strawberry purée, spiced rum and lime juice. This year we chose to do the shaken version but next year we might offer this as a frozen cocktail.

Pop in for one like some customers have already, they know who they are, some have constantly been trying the Cocktail of the Month.

We have cocktails with the main four base spirits also available, so there is a cocktail for everyone. Other cocktail on our menu include standard Daiquiri, Margarita and Old Fashioned.

Each month we will change the Cocktail of the Month to celebrate that month, we will post each month promoting the cocktail or ask a member of staff about it.

Keep an eye out in the next couple of days as we are also offering some sparkling cocktails for summer.

West Dorset CAMRA Cider & Perry Pub of the Year 2026. By Rich Gabe.

Congratulations go to The White Hart Yetminster - Second Original for taking the overall winning prize of being crowned the West Dorset Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA ) Cider & Perry Pub of the year 2026.

The White Hart is situated only a short 6 minute walk from Yetminster railway station and is the ideal pub to sample a pint of traditional real cider. Typically, on the bar you will find ciders from the likes of Isaac Cider and Harry's Cider Company. The pub beat off stiff competition from rival pubs and was judged the winner by an independent CAMRA panel of judges who visited all pubs in the competition with The Woodman in Bridport taking second spot. Previously, in 2019 it was voted West Dorset CAMRA Pub of the Year.

The pub is run by business partners Craig Barfoot and David Morgan. On receiving the award Craig said: "Under my management I have celebrated Dorset, which is the county I have proudly been in the whole of my life, with rotating guest ales and ciders from South West breweries and orchards. It is an honour to have been awarded the West Dorset CAMRA Cider and Perry pub of the year." Craig went on to say: "Cider is my typical drink of choice and I will have several pints of both still traditional ciders we stock.”

West Dorset CAMRA competitions coordinator Kylie Stroud said: "The White Hart ticked all the boxes, with good quality cider served at a correct temperature, the initial welcome was good and staff had good product knowledge and actively promoted cider within CAMRA’s aims.” She went on to highlight the pub's welcoming and tastefully presented interior surroundings.

The pub will now go forward into the county Cider & Perry Pub of the year. West Dorset CAMRA wishes Craig and David good luck for the future.
