Our small plates were made for exactly this: you’re already in the bar, you’ve got a drink, and something to eat suddenly sounds like a very good idea.

Order one with your pint, add another if you’re staying for a second, or choose a few to share.

Available in the bar:
Wednesday–Saturday · 12pm–2:30pm and 5pm–8:30pm
Sunday · 12pm–5pm

No table booking needed — just grab a seat in the bar and order when you’re ready.

Christmas plans, sorted 🎄✨

We’ll be open every day from Monday 21 December through Sunday 3 January — ready for festive catch-ups, family get-togethers, a well-earned pint and those lovely in-between days when nobody quite knows what day it is.

Swipe for the full day-by-day details, including our extended Monday and Tuesday opening, Christmas Day sittings and New Year’s Eve food service.

Christmas Day food is pre-bookings only. For all other food bookings, book through our website.

After all that, we’ll be taking a well-earned breather on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 January — we’ll need it 😅

💡 Well, you really couldn’t make this up… 😂

Just over an hour after announcing we were closing for the day, the power is back on!

So, in yet another twist to today’s events, we’re reopening the bar! 🍻

Unfortunately, our restaurant will remain closed for the rest of today, and all food bookings remain cancelled.

If you fancy joining us for a Sunday afternoon pint, the doors are back open and we’d love to see you.

We’re pleased to say the bar has reopened, although our restaurant remains closed for the rest of today and all food bookings remain cancelled.

🕯️ Power Cut Update – We’re Now Fully Closed

Unfortunately, the ongoing power cut has left us with no choice but to close the pub completely for the remainder of today.

We’d hoped to keep the doors open for drinks, but with our payment systems still down and no indication of when power will be restored, it’s simply not possible to continue operating.

We’re really sorry to everyone affected by today’s disruption, particularly those whose bookings we’ve had to cancel. We’re continuing to do our best to contact everyone affected.

🕯️ Power Cut Update – Restaurant Closure

Unfortunately, with the power still out and no indication of when it will be restored, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our restaurant for the remainder of today.

This means all remaining table bookings for today are now cancelled.

We’re doing our very best to contact everyone affected directly, but with our phone lines also impacted by the outage, this is proving a little challenging.

We’re incredibly sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience, particularly to those who were looking forward to joining us today.

🕯️ Well, this is a bit old school…

It seems most of Shepley has been hit by an unexpected power cut, and unfortunately The Farmers Boy hasn’t escaped!

With no indication of when the power might be restored, our kitchen is currently out of action and we’re unable to serve food. Our phone lines and payment systems have also been affected.

If you’ve got a table booked with us today, we’ll be reviewing bookings hour by hour, making decisions in waves as the situation develops. Unfortunately, this means we may need to cancel some bookings.

We’ll do our very best to contact anyone affected, although with our phone lines down, this may prove a little tricky. Please bear with us.

The candles are lit, and we’ve certainly got that old-fashioned pub atmosphere going… just not quite how we’d planned! 🕯️

We’ll keep you updated as things develop and hope to be back up and running as soon as possible.

We’re bringing the final Round Table to The Farmers Boy and showing The Celebrity Traitors final live on the large screen in our main restaurant area on Friday 30 October.

Join us from 7:30pm, ready for the deception to begin at 8pm. Pick your suspects, defend your favourites and find out together whether the Faithful can root out the final Traitor.

What happens when the dog group chat finally meets in person? 🐾

Our first Doggy Breakfast Club brought wagging tails, new introductions and approximately zero table manners to The Farmers Boy — and we loved every minute.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Animal Amigos Huddersfield for helping us organise the morning and bring all those new four-legged friendships together.

The dog group chat meets again on Saturday 21 November, from 10am–12pm. Save the date, tell your best mate and come make a few new ones.

One week into our new autumn/winter menu, and a few favourites are already taking shape. 🍽️

The Beef Bourguignon Pie is leading the early orders, but it has plenty of competition: chilli-spiced Pork Belly Bites with apple slaw and chilli jam; a Yorkshire pudding filled with slow-smoked brisket, red w**e gravy and Brie; and char siu-glazed Chicken with jasmine rice and prawn crackers.
