Sheffield's Late Night Underground Music Venue

Bringing amazing Drum n Bass, Bassline, Hardcore, House, Techno and UKG music to the heart of Sheffield.

Situated at the old Boardwalk venue, on Snig Hill, in Sheffield. We bring you "Bassbox", Sheffield's ultimate underground music venue.

What's this then?

The Boardwalk (originally known as "The Black Swan"), one of Sheffield's most legendary venues, had been empty, disused and in dire need of repair for many years. Having played host to iconic acts such the Arctic Monkeys, Joe Cocker, AC/DC, the S*x Pistols, Bring Me the Horizon and, not to forget, The Clash played their first ever gig here.

Being big fans of Drum n Bass, we have a good ear for audio. We also have a passion to put on some of the biggest and best nights the city has to offer, with some fantastic lineups. The old Boardwalk venue, with it's amazing history and unique position within the city (close to both the city centre and recently redeveloped Kelham Island) seemed like the perfect fit for what we want to achieve.

We cleaned out the entire venue then kitted it out with a fresh bar, the best sound-system and a fresh lick of paint. Ready for some of the funkiest beats, heaviest bass, fresh hip-hop and live music of all genres, Bassbox is now here.

With perfect acoustics, a maximum capacity of 400, VIP/green room, in-house sound-system, well stocked bar, purpose built dance floor and comfortable seating area, we provide the essential experience for all music lovers, especially those who crave more of a 90's style rave/freeparty vibe.

We're looking to put on some amazing nights for all fans of music. Big acts, big beats and beautiful vibes for all. From Drum n Bass, Jungle and Jump-Up nights, to RnB specials, as well as some classic rave genres, with the occasional mix of local bands, acoustic & rock music.
