Not a post we would ever want to do but here we are, people are continuing to take what ever they want from our pub & to be honest we’ve actually had enough 😩
Yesterday we had to bar a group of people from the pub as they thought it was ok to steal from us, they stole three of our custom made cushions that match our bench seating. They lied about needing a cushion for one of the party to sit on outside. They put the three cushions in the boot of their car and then lied claiming they had done nothing wrong when asked where said cushions were, but good old cctv proved otherwise and we retrieved them from the car! We will save them the embarrassment of posting their images on here, (though we actually think we should) These people know who they are, they are well aware they are barred from our pub for life, their images & information has been shared with our local pub watch group so local business’s know to be aware of these individuals.
We also had a table of 5 individuals who thought it was hilarious to steal three pumpkins from our window displays. The total cost of those pumpkins was £10, add that to the hundreds we have had stolen this year alone in ornaments, picture frames (yes an actual picture taken off the wall) reed diffusers, plants pots, flowers, blu tac from the back of posters 🤯 the list is endless 😐 literally if it isn’t glued down people seem to think it’s their right to take it 😡
People may think it’s just a bit of a laugh to steal from pubs and in today’s society sadly stealing is becoming the norm, but when you steal from us you are stealing from a family run business, one that is getting harder and harder to run in today’s challenging times, our team work very hard to provide the service we do and yes we do take it personally when people take OUR belongings 😳
So well done Mr Pumpkin theif you have gone and gotten yourself and your four friends barred too 🎃 We have cctv of you clear as day popping the pumpkins in your hoody and heading out of the back door to have a good old laugh with the others thieves that were about to steal our cushions. We’ve got some lovely footage of you all having a good old giggle at what you had done, well done, you are very big and very clever 🙄 We have also shared your images with our team and also the pub watch group & you and your friends who thought this was big & clever are no longer welcome in our pub 🍻
We have signs up around the pub stating that if you are caught stealing from us you will be barred immediately and your images & information will be shared with our local pubs through our pub watch group and on social media. If you would like to do the right thing and return the pumpkins feel free, we would be most grateful 🎃 (you will be still barred though as why would we want thieves like you in our pub??) 🤷🏼♀️
We love to make our pub look homely and cosy and love to add quirky little additions, such as our autumn pumpkins, Halloween displays and Christmas decorations, we love to make people smile & we think it’s actually really sad that we have to have signs up asking people not to steal from us and some people take that as a sign to steal what ever they want anyway, like it’s a bit of a challenge 🙄 This isn’t the odd little thing, we have had so much stuff taken this year it’s getting beyond a joke 🤡
Thank you to the 99% of our Customers who continue to support us and to those of you who think it’s ok to steal, we will catch you and you will be barred just like yesterdays thieves and their friends!
