Happy Halloween one and all. Many on this day think of those who have departed. Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama who passed this year inspired Andy's pumpkin. Big thanks to heating engineer Mark Benfield for some of the 'tools' used - we hope he'll be around for years to come!

Coco the pub cat has reached the ripe old age of 10, bless her. After a shaky start to life on the mean streets of Abu Dhabi she is flourishing!

Yesterday began with this in the post which really touched us. A busy day ensued with holidaymakers and regulars, a lonely widow and local people who had "passed many times but never been in before" but said they'd be back. Later on we had a Dutch couple spending their first night in the UK with us but the highlight had to be Jack and Reagan on the inaugural night of their trail bike adventure. It turned out to be a late one with neighbours in afterwards so we're a bit bleary-eyed today but thankful for all the lovely customers we have 🙏

We had a new brewery addition to our cask ale line-up recently. We were unsure if this 'copper traditional ale with subtle caramel tones' would be traditional enough for some of our more conservative regulars but we're happy to say that it seemed to pass the test. We look forward to getting some more of this local brew in 😁

Lovely sunny weekend with customers enjoying the garden, enhanced by Compton's Warbirds intermittently buzzing over. Andy discovered this wee note when clearing the table. Karalyne Hyde can take credit for the flapjacks but it's amazing how a few words can go such a long way 🙏

Honoured to have just hosted a regular's family gathering in honour of his father Vernon. He lived to a ripe old age and trust his family will too. Rest in peace sir 🫡 Less people are having funerals these days but it's good to mark these occasions and to get together with your nearest and dearest.

Little Gem's first visit this year 🥰 Later joined by something far more modern, a 1920s Rolls Royce Silver Ghost heading back home to Cornwall 😊
