The day finally arrived for the mega hike to Canary Wharf in London from our pub in Sevenoaks.
19 miles into the journey and there's a glimmer of hope, not long to go now onto the Cutty Sark then through the Greenwich foot tunnel under the drink!

This Sunday 9th June we have the pleasure of the extremely talented musician Jules Hay and his band. What a treat this will be from our local friend of the pub!

Dan will be taking on the challenge to walk to Canary Wharf from the pub in Heaverham, Sevenoaks this coming Thursday 13th June with a cross-country route of 24 miles.
As many of you are aware, last year both Dan, partner Emily and two children have take on a number of walks in preparation for this Grand Finale and have received massive support from many of you to raise money for The Chequers Inn and keep the doors open through these difficult times post Brexit & Covid.
Unfortunately around Christmas, Dan became unwell and subsequently had to hand his notice in as the current tenant at the pub, hence the delay in completing this. However, as time quickly passes to the end of the final two weeks, Dan will take to the footpaths (without recent training & not well prepared) in honour of your generous donations and as a massive thank you to all of our loyal guests we have loved looking after over the last 5 years!

Day boat caught fish, beer battered by hand, served with crisps chunky chips, crushed minted peas and chopped tartare sauce. You can take this home, enjoy it in our pub, or garden if the weather should treat us again this weekend?!
