Libraries don’t have to be quiet!

Thank you to the lovely people at Shirley Community Library, who made me feel so welcome yesterday playing a Jazz & Tea fundraising solo concert.

It’s an inspirational place: saved, refurbed and run by amazing volunteers, and really feels like how community should be! ❤️

PS Beat Green Room ever… water, cakes (vegan of course) and a room full of books! 📚 ❤️

World class musicians descend on Seaford!

Last night’s Splash Point Jazz Club Seaford ended with a terrific duet of Art Themen and Andy Panayi - two of the UK’s finest sax players.
PLUS some epic bass-playing from Andy Hamill, and the ever-groovy Sophie Alloway on drums! (Yours truly on vocals and piano).

A hot and triumphant night!

Next one Mon 17th September: fab guitarist Deirdre Cartwright 😃

Not so great was getting stuck on the Piccadilly Line in 40°C!!
Ah well…

Then a lovely jazz lunch afternoon at Buxted Park with Jane Tuff playing for the E-Type owner’s Club!

P.S. Don’t forget folks - tomorrow 7pm (Monday 13th) is Splash Point Jazz Club Seaford, feat. Art Themen, Andy Hamill, Sophie Alloway and yours truly…

Last Sunday straight after my lunchtime gig, made a mad dash by train up to Carlisle, to cycle across the Scottish border… to fulfill a promise I made to join my crazy sister and bro-in-law for a day on their Lands End to John O’Groats cycle.

A coupla days included visiting the former centuries-old seat of the Scottish nation: Lochmaben - home to the Bruce dynasty.

Any Bruce family reading this…?

Here are the remains of Lochmaben Castle, which changed hands between the English and the Scots several times.
(Actually it just felt we were on the set of MP & The Holy Grail!!)

Got back on Tues night. I love a long train journey! 🚂
