THURSDAY NIGHT RANKING SERIES – UNDER 65 AVG

As always, we started the night off strong!

4 groups • 4 boards • 24 players

Everyone was looking to add those all-important points to the table as we get closer to GRAND FINAL NIGHT!

GROUP WINNERS & RUNNERS-UP

🎯 Theo Briggs & Max Sampson
🎯 Shaun Matthews & Paul Calvert
🎯 Astyn Orbell & Darren Ward
🎯 Simon Laity & Gareth Webber

Well done to everyone else too don't worry, you still added some points next to your name 🤣 Every point counts!

QUARTER-FINALS

🎯 Theo vs Darren
Theo took Darren down with a solid 3–1 victory.

🎯 Simon vs Paul
Simon made Paul say goodbye 👋🤣 with a convincing 3–0 win.

🎯 Shaun vs Gaz
These two took it all the way to a deciding leg in a fantastic game! Shaun eventually got the job done, taking it 3–2. 👏

🎯 Max vs Astyn
Max made Astyn question his life choices 🤣 with a 3–0 win to book his place in the semis.

SEMI-FINALS

🎯 Simon Laity vs Theo Briggs

Two fantastic players who had both played brilliantly all night. This really could have gone either way!

Theo opened the game by taking the first leg, which clearly made Si think...

"NOPE! I'm showing this young 'un that us older ones still rule the boards!"

And that's exactly what he did!

Simon fought back and booked his place in the final with a 3–1 victory.

🎯 Shaun Matthews vs Max Sampson

Now, we ALL know about the friendly fire rivalry between these two!

They love each other away from the board, but the second they step up to that oche... THEY MEAN BUSINESS!

Neither of them was going down easily.

Max opened the game by taking the first leg, Shaun came straight back to take the second, and from there it went backwards and forwards all the way to a DECIDING LEG!

Then Max stepped up and checked out a brilliant 92, leaving Shaun sitting on 165.

That checkout secured Max his place in the final!

THE FINAL

🎯 Simon Laity vs Max Sampson

Max must have still been fired up from that semi-final because he came flying out of the blocks and took the first TWO legs!

We're still not sure whether it was the Fireballs or the energy drinks fuelling him at this point...
But Si wasn't about to stand there and give him an easy game. OH NO!

Si came fighting back in the third leg and checked out while Max was left staring at the iPad showing 136 remaining.

But that only seemed to light the fire in Max even more.

Tonight was his night... and he was taking it!

🥇 WINNER — MAX "PRETTY IN PINK" SAMPSON

🥈 RUNNER-UP — SIMON LAITY

Massive congratulations to both lads. It was a fantastic run from both of you all night and a brilliant final to finish things off!

And we're not finished yet...

We've still got a few more weeks to get those points on the board before the GRAND FINAL!

Who'll make the cut? 👀

🔥
WE GO AGAIN SUNDAY!

You know where to find us... 🎯🍻

We kicked things off with a FULL HOUSE —4 groups, 4 boards and plenty of darts thrown!

🏆 GROUP WINNERS & RUNNERS-UP

Shaun Matthews & Gareth Lewis

Gareth Webber & Dave Matthews

Theo Briggs & Bobby Webber

Paul Calvert & Nathan Evans

Unlucky to everyone else… we can all probably guess the excuses that were flying around 🤣🤣

QUARTER FINALS

Shaun took on Bobby and booked his place in the semis with a solid 3-1 victory.

Dave left Paul shaking his head all the way home after sneaking through 3-2

Gareth W sent Nathan packing after another close battle, winning 3-2.

And Theo meant business, cruising into the semi-finals with a 3-0 win over boss man Gareth!

SEMI-FINAL 1 — DAD vs SON

Dave Matthews v Shaun Matthews

This one had a bit of everything!

Dave opened the match by taking the first leg, but Shaun fought straight back leaving his dad sat on 191 while he calmly took out 40.

All square heading into the third.

Shaun took the third, Dave answered by taking the fourth…

2-2. DECIDING LEG.

And when it mattered most, Shaun stepped up and checked out a cool 96 to secure his place in the FINAL!

Shaun 3-2 Dave

SEMI-FINAL 2 — THEO vs GAZ

Another absolute battle!

Theo opened up by taking the first before Gaz responded. Then Theo. Then Gaz…

Back and forth they went, and for the second time we had a semi-final going ALL THE WAY!

At 2-2 it was anyone's game, but only one man could join Shaun in the final…

Gaz 3-2 Theo

THE FINAL

SHAUN MATTHEWS v GAZ WEBBER

Both lads had shown fantastic form throughout the night, so we knew we were in for a cracking final.

Gaz came flying out of the blocks, taking the first leg with a brilliant 114 CHECKOUT!

Shaun's response?

How about a 113 CHECKOUT in the very next leg while Gaz was still sat on 258!

Shaun then took the third to go ahead, but Gaz wasn't finished.

Gaz battled back to take legs 4 AND 5.

Shaun responded again, taking leg 6…

3-3.

ONE LEG. ONE WINNER. EVERYTHING ON THE DECIDER.

The final leg was wide open for both lads, but there could only be one winner…

WINNER — SHAUN MATTHEWS

RUNNER-UP — GAZ WEBBER

🎯 Gary Cowell & Liam Cowell

Well done to everyone else who came down and took part!

Harrison vs Gary
Harrison sent Gary packing with another 3–1 win.

Gaz vs Liam
Liam Cowell was sent home early by Gaz, who produced a tidy 3–0 victory.

Steve vs Alan
What a fantastic game this was — and I can say that because I marked it! 😂
Unlucky for Alan when it came to those finishes, but hats off to Steve for capitalising and taking a 3–1 victory.

SEMI-FINALS

First up, it was the battle of the younger generation…

Harrison vs Bobby

What a start for Bobby, taking the opening leg with Harrison sitting on 188.

But Harrison wasn’t going down that easily! He hit back to take the second, and from there it went backwards and forwards all the way to a deciding leg.

With everything on the line, Bobby held his nerve and took the win to book his place in the final!

Next up…

Gaz vs Steve

After a fantastic game against Alan, could Steve keep that form going? Or were we about to see another father and son final?

A brilliant 3–0 victory for Gaz answered that question and sent him through to the final!

THE FINAL

DAD vs SON
Gaz vs Bobby

Bobby came flying out of the blocks and took the first TWO legs, probably leaving Gaz wondering why he ever let him pick up a set of darts!

But Dad wasn’t going to make it easy…

Gaz battled back and took the next two legs to make it 2–2. Game on!

Then came the fifth leg…

Bobby stepped up and pinned a LOVELY 111 CHECKOUT!

With just one more leg needed, could Bobby find that extra push and finish the job?

HE COULD!

1 room. 4 boards. 4 groups of 6. And far too many drink glasses to count.

But in other important news… Alan Oakley got his garlic, so he was happy! 🧄

After a cracking night of darts, here’s how it all went down…

Bobby Biggler & Steve Slater

QUARTER-FINALS

Gaz Webber 3–0 Carl Merryweather
Bobby Biggler 3–1 Astyn Orbell

SEMI-FINALS

First up, it was a dad & son showdown as Gaz took on Bobby!

Gaz had been in top form throughout the group stages, even dropping a cheeky 180 along the way. But could Bobby be the one to end his run?

Gaz Webber 3–0 Bobby Biggler

Gaz marches on to the final! 👏

The second semi-final saw Steve Slater v Theo Briggs.

Steve opened up by taking the first leg, but that seemed to light a fire under Theo!

In the second leg, Theo left Steve sitting on 218 while he calmly checked out 55. From there, Theo kept producing some quality darts, firing in a few 100s and 140s over the next couple of legs.

Theo Briggs 3–1 Steve Slater

And just like that, our final was set…

🏆 THE FINAL 🏆
Theo Briggs v Gaz Webber

And WHAT a final it was!

One of those games where the legs went back and forth and nobody could predict which way it was going to go.

Twice Gaz looked strong, leaving Theo sitting on the high numbers while he checked out and put himself in control.

But could Theo turn it around and make this one his final?

He certainly could!

🥇 WINNER – THEO BRIGGS 🥇
🥈 RUNNER-UP – GAZ WEBBER 🥈

Massive congratulations to Theo on taking the win and well played Gaz on a brilliant run to the final!

A huge thank you and well done to everyone who took part and made it another cracking Thursday night of darts.

What a great game from both lads!

Mick stormed into a 2–0 lead before Gaz fought back to take the third. Could Gaz find another leg and start the comeback, or was Mick heading into the final?

Mick made sure there'd be no comeback, taking the next leg to seal a 3–1 victory and his place in the final! 👏

THE FINAL
Paul Calvert v Mick Barclay

This really was a final worth watching! You'd be forgiven for thinking it was tennis with how much the legs went back and forth! 🎾😂

🎯 SUNDAY NIGHT DARTS – UNDER 65 AVG 🎯
🔥 DOUBLE-IN EDITION! 🔥

You know the score by now… 👀

🎯 4 boards
🎯 4 groups
🎯 24 players

All looking to add those all-important points to the board ahead of FINALS NIGHT!

This time there was an extra challenge — DOUBLE IN! 😬

GROUP WINNERS & RUNNERS-UP

🎯 Carl Merryweather & Theo Briggs
🎯 Gary Cowell & Steve Slater
🎯 Dave Matthews & Max Sampson
🎯 Simon Laity & Shaun Matthews

QUARTER-FINALS

All but one of the quarter-finals went the full distance to a deciding leg!

Max Sampson 3–2 Carl Merryweather
Simon Laity 2–3 Steve Slater
Dave Matthews 3–2 Theo Briggs

Then came the final quarter-final…

Shaun wasn’t giving Gary even an inch to think the semis were within reach! A dominant performance saw Shaun take it 3–0 and book his place in the last four.

SEMI-FINALS

Max Sampson v Steve Slater

Steve opened the match by taking the first leg, but Max was determined that tonight was going to be his night to reach the final!

That thunderstorm must have put some extra zap into Max ⚡ because he came firing back to take the next THREE legs!

Max wins 3–1 and leaves Steve cursing that thunderstorm! 🌩️

Shaun Matthews v Dave Matthews

It was a full DAD v LAD SHOWDOWN! 👨‍👦

We’d already seen grandad and grandson battle it out in the quarters… now it was time for Dave to try and knock his own son out of the race for the final!

Shaun clearly wasn’t planning on letting that happen. He came flying out of the blocks and took the opening two legs.

Everyone thought that might be it… but Dave had other ideas!

Dad fought back to take the third, leaving everyone wondering…

Would it be Dad or Son taking on Max in the final?

In the end, Shaun showed Dad who was boss on this occasion 😂 taking the match 3–1 and securing his place in the final!

THE FINAL

MAX SAMPSON v SHAUN MATTHEWS

Now, we don’t know if everyone has seen, but these two have a BIG MONEY MATCH SHOWDOWN coming up soon… 💰

So was tonight a little warm-up?

Max opened the scoring by taking the first leg before Shaun fought straight back to take the second.

1–1… GAME ON!

But from there Shaun produced some incredible darts. Max struggled to find those doubles to get himself into the legs, and Shaun made sure he capitalised.

Shaun powered through the next three legs to take the match and the Sunday night crown! 🏆🔥

🥇 WINNER – Shaun Matthews 🥇
