We set Maul’s up after getting inspiration from the cheese board and delicious Montepulciano wine we enjoyed on our first date. From there our love affair with wine and cheese grew- and the rest, as they say, is history. We only stock what we love, good quality local and international wine, cheese and cured meats and pates along with some delicious chutneys and pickles. Life’s most decadent and delicious pleasures. You can find us in the heart of historical Salisbury, come on in and enjoy!

A new beginning 🌹

Maul’s Wine and Cheese Bar are delighted to announce that we will be taking over the food refills business of the beloved Salisbury independent zero waste shop in Wi******er Street: Blueberry Den.

Blueberry Den was founded by Celeste in 2019 and supported by a growing community ever since; but earlier this year, she made the decision to step down with the hope to find someone to continue her mission.

Celeste’s passion and determination to sourcing high quality, interesting produce with the aim to fit into all our lifestyles and budgets matched Andy’s same passion, drive and determination to bring back that community, high street shopping experience that our city and economy is struggling with - we couldn’t let this fade away from the city of Salisbury.

So, when one door closes, another door opens.

So, Maul’s Wine and Cheese Bar are pleased to be launching Salisbury’s first:

𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗽

We are very keen to work closely with our customers to ensure their fridge and store cupboard essentials are well looked after and with our exciting new family ration planner, we will help everyone manage their household needs and budgets efficiently.

This exciting addition will have no impact on our own hospitality experience as the city's no.1 place to drink wine and eat cheese.

Our City Farm Shop will be growing at 3 Fish Row over the next few weeks – so why not pop in for a chat and see what we can help you with.

Things won’t change, until we change

So, let’s make that change – May 1st 2026.

𝑴𝒂𝒖𝒍’𝒔 𝑭𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝑹𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓 – we all lead busy lives and easily fall into that trap of convenience. We worry about rising prices, wanting to support the local businesses, but fear that they are all just too expensive.

Communities lost, economy crashing, what can little old me do?
Simple!! We are not asking you to reinvent the wheel - we just want to add some chrome to it 😊

So Salisbury, go make your weekly shop in whatever supermarket or online store you use, and highlight on your receipts what core dairy, food cupboard, fridge, wine and every day or treat essentials you buy and pop into Maul’s and lets see if we can match or beat the prices, with artisan, wholesome alternatives.

Let’s have “The Chat” 🗣️

Now more than ever, we must rally together and support our independent businesses. With prices rising and global politics impacting all around us, it might feel tempting to sink into the comfort of Netflix and the sofa, clicking away at online giants or heading to the nearest supermarket – especially during the week – making us all prisoners trapped in our homes – with the media scaring us into not spending any money , just encase the worst was to happen – prioritising big corporate energy bills and global subscriptions as your main priority and not the local economy on your doorstep.

With every pound you spend locally—yes, even just £5.00—makes a world of difference to a small business owner, their staff, and the community at large.

We the small businesses are the people who remember your face, who greet you with genuine warmth, and care about what you eat and drink. It’s easy to believe that supermarkets and Amazon always offer the best deal, but this simply isn’t true.

The value of supporting local businesses goes far beyond price tags; it strengthens our economy and keeps our neighbourhoods vibrant.

Are you someone that enjoys a large glass of wine and a chunk of artisan cheese? Do you see yourself as a friendly, outgoing person who is looking for a job in a vibrant hospitality venue? Do you think you can deliver exceptional customer service?

Well, look no further! Maul’s has the job for you!

Maul’s Wine and Cheese Bar are looking for a Wine & Cheese Assistant to join our small team on a flexible zero-hour contract.
You will be looking after our guests by providing them with the best customer experience Salisbury has to offer.

By offering knowledgeable recommendations, and ensuring an inviting atmosphere, we are ideally looking for candidates that have a friendly and positive attitude, and a genuine enthusiasm for hospitality.

Skills & attributes we are looking for:

- Reliable and punctual candidates
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent people skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to multi-task and stay organised
- Previous hospitality experience is a plus

All training will be provided with the opportunity to earn more hours throughout the summer.

Successful candidates will be required to work Fridays & Saturdays (evening shifts included).
