It is with the greatest sadness we announce the sudden loss of Scott Masterson 😒 a short illness took him from us on Monday evening.

I’m at a total loss and will continue the dream πŸ’ he had to bring this village pub back to life - just may take a bit longer as I’m no project manager 😦 like he was.

If any of you wish to support his dream we welcome your support in any format

Meet Scott & Nicola Masterson β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘‡πŸ»

Behind the transformation of The Red Lion are local couple Scott and Nicola Masterson, who recently took over the pub and have been working hard behind the scenes to restore this much loved village local... πŸ πŸ”¨

Nicola Masterson (formerly Sharpe) πŸ‘‡πŸ‘©πŸΌ

Nicola moved to St Osyth as a child and attended the village primary school. Her family previously owned The W**e Lodge on Clacton Road, and her parents were heavily involved in local youth football teams and inter-village sports competitions.

Having worked in finance for many years before becoming involved in the family businesses, Nicola has a business background. She also has a passion for tennis, playing and visiting tournaments with friends.

Scott Masterson πŸ‘‡πŸ‘¨πŸ»

Scott Masterson has lived in the local area all his life and moved to St Osyth when he began dating Nicola over 30 years ago. His family has strong ties to the area, having owned Sailor Boy Amusements at Hutleys (Sailor Boy Amusements And Family Fun Park), St Osyth Beach, for over 50 years which is now run by Nicola. They also have another arcade on a family run park on Mersea Island for nearly 20 years.

With a background in building and a keen interest in renovating and modernising spaces, Scott has always enjoyed bringing things up to date. After leaving school, he developed his skills in the building industry. Scott enjoys golf and is a member of Clacton Golf Club.

Nicola and Scott set up their own company over 20 years ago, supplying the local pubs and clubs in the area with gaming machines, jukes boxes and pool tables πŸ–οΈπŸŽ±πŸŽ―

They have two children and two grandchildren which they like to spend spare time with where they can, and their favourite time is the annual family holiday to Lanzarote in the winter ✈️🌴🌊
