The wait is over… St Ives Theatre Bar is opening its doors!

We are thrilled to announce that from this weekend, our fabulous theatre bar will be open every Friday and Saturday evening from 5pm–10pm for drinks, themed cocktails, a musical theatre soundtrack and all-round showbiz vibes!

Whether you’re a theatre lover, or simply looking for somewhere a little different to spend your evening, we’ve got the perfect soundtrack, atmosphere and drinks menu waiting for you.

And that’s not all…

Our Theatre Café will also be open every Sunday from 11am–4pm, serving delicious coffee, cakes and sweet treats in the heart of St Ives Theatre.

So come and raise a glass, enjoy a coffee, soak up the atmosphere and support your local theatre. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Busy year at St Ives Theatre.... Have you booked?

Nestled among the winding streets of St Ives, the town’s cherished theatre stands as a monument to both Cornwall’s rich cultural heritage and the community’s dedication to the performing arts.

Originally constructed in the late 19th century as a Primitive Methodist Chapel, the building’s journey from place of worship to celebrated arts venue reflects the evolving story of St Ives itself.

The stone building that now houses St Ives Theatre was built in 1888 as the Primitive Methodist Chapel, serving the spiritual needs of the local community for decades.

Its distinctive architecture, with high ceilings and excellent acoustics, unknowingly laid the foundation for its future theatrical purpose. The chapel remained active until the mid-20th century when declining congregation numbers led to its closure.
