The council is consulting on plans to introduce residents-only parking restrictions in an area that includes College Road.

If implemented, this would have a major effect on the club and its users. The club is open all day, every day, not just as a social meeting place but also as a community hub.

Many of our members are elderly and need to park close by. We also employ a number of staff some of whom travel to work by car. And, of course, unrestricted parking is essential for deliveries and tradespeople.

Many of the homes in College Road have their own off-road parking and, being so far from the station, there is no issue with commuters parking in the street. So not only would this have a big negative impact on the club but it's just not necessary.

The quiz is back in just two weeks!

August's featured artists will be Australian rock band AC/DC. Plus there will be six other rounds spanning the decades and genres of chart music.

Join us on Friday 21st August for the pub quiz that's 100 per cent music and a million per cent fun. It's just £3 per person to play and there are great prizes to be won.
