🧜🏻‍♀️📚 The Mermaid Reading Society is back for round two! ✨🍷

After the absolutely incredible turnout at our launch night, where 65 lovely bookworms joined us, we’re so excited to welcome you all back for our second meeting!

Whether you joined us last month or you’re thinking about coming along for the first time, everyone is welcome!

What can you expect?

📖 BOOK TALK - Bring your current read, share your favourites and discover some new additions for that never-ending TBR list! We’ll also be opening up the mic for anyone who fancies giving us a one-minute book recommendation!

🎨 BOOKISH CRAFTING - Another chance to get creative with a fun, relaxed book-themed craft activity! No experience needed, just come along and get stuck in!

🍸 THEMED DRINKS - The bookish cocktails & mocktails will be making a return!

✨ SOCIALISING - Meet fellow readers, make new friends and spend an evening chatting about all things books!

Remember, we’re a book club without the homework! There’s no assigned reading, no pressure to finish a book and absolutely no need to be an expert. Just bring yourself and your love of reading! 📚

🧣🍂 A heads up about the weather! 🍂🧣

After the amazing turnout last month, we’re still going to need to host our meetings out in the garden to make sure there’s plenty of room for everybody!

I’ve popped the forecast for Tuesday evening in the last photo, and thankfully it’s currently looking like a dry evening! 🤞🏼 However, with temperatures predicted to drop to around 8°C (feeling more like 6°C!), it’s definitely going to be a chilly one!

We’ll have the garden heaters on, but please wrap up warm! Coats, scarves, gloves, blankets – bring whatever you need to keep yourselves cosy while we chat books! 🧤🧣📚

And if you’re thinking about coming alone, please don’t let that put you off! Our first meeting was full of people arriving solo and leaving with new bookish friends.

I can’t wait to see some familiar faces and hopefully lots of new ones too! And don’t worry, this time I’ll be slightly more prepared for the numbers and won’t be running around desperately gathering extra benches!

The b**rs are flowing, the bratwursts are sizzling, and we’re only just getting started! 🥨🍺

If you haven’t joined us yet, here’s a little taste of what you’re missing…

🍺 6 German b**rs to work your way through, from traditional Bavarian la**rs to wheat b**rs, dark b**rs and Oktoberfest specials! Available by the pint or, if you’re feeling particularly festive, by the STEIN! 🍻

🌭 Authentic German bratwursts served in soft pretzel buns, loaded with all your favourite toppings, plus freshly baked German pretzels to keep you fuelled!
