Here's ours;

Daytime: beach, rock pools and fossil hunting on our doorstep.
After dark: Illuminated Whitby Abbey, or a family stargazing event with the Dark Skies Fringe Festival across the North York Moors.
Every night: dinner in our dining room and bed in our family room, which sleeps four with a double and bunk beds.
Every morning: breakfast included.

The secret to an autumn break on the coast? Go midweek. 🍂

Quieter beaches, emptier paths along the Cleveland Way, and Staithes and Whitby without the weekend crowds.

Come back each evening to dinner in our dining room, sleep well, and wake up to a full English. Breakfast is included in every stay.

Whitby Abbey after dark is something else.

From Friday 23 to Saturday 31 October, English Heritage are lighting up the ruins every evening from 5.30pm to 9pm, with new family performances inspired by Dracula. Tickets need booking, and they're cheaper in advance.

Make a night of it. Dinner with us from 5pm, over to the Abbey, then back up the coast to sleep somewhere quiet. Breakfast is included in the morning.

It lands in half term week, so book your room early.

After a muddy walk on the beach, bring your human back here. They get dinner. You get fuss.

Coming to Whitby Goth Weekend? 🦇

It runs from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November this year, right over Halloween, and Whitby's beds go fast.

We're about 20 minutes up the coast in Runswick Bay. Spend your days in town at the Bizarre Bazaar and the gigs, then come back to somewhere quieter, with a proper dinner, a comfy room and a full English to set you up for day two.

Dark by seven. Dinner's on. 🍴

The evenings are pulling in and tastes change. Heartier plates, seasonal specials and everything cooked on site by our chefs, using as much local produce as we can get our hands on.

Food is served from 5pm Monday to Friday, and from 12pm at the weekend.

Two nights. No plans. Here's one we made earlier. 🧳

Friday: arrive, drop the bags, dinner in our dining room.
Saturday: full English, then along the coast to Staithes for the harbour and a wander round the cobbles. Back for a drink at the bar.
Sunday: breakfast, down the bank to the beach, then into Whitby for the afternoon.

Six rooms, breakfast included, and the beach five minutes' walk away.
