As a similar venue ourselves, catering for a slightly older crowd with live music and that more personal feel, this really hits home.
As they’ve said, we need to support local or we’re going to lose these smaller independent venues.
We hope everyone at The Treehouse is okay and can keep their heads held high. Seven years in this industry is an amazing achievement and something they should be incredibly proud of.
No business sector is easy, but there’s something seriously wrong with what the hospitality industry is expected to pay out before you’ve even opened the doors. I genuinely think a lot of people would be shocked if they saw the true costs involved in keeping a small independent venue running.
So please, support your local pubs, bars, restaurants and live music venues. Pop in for that pint, book the table, watch the local singer and spend your money with the independents when you can.
Because if we don’t support them, we can’t complain when our town centres end up full of boarded-up buildings, HMOs and another chicken shop.
Support local while it’s still local. 🖤
The time has come to close the doors for the final time.
