Quick recap of this past weekend……

On Saturday we had an extra medal which was won by “The General” Frank Lee with an excellent gross 83 for a nett 64. In second place rolling back the years with a 2 under 67 for a nett 65 was George “tell me this” Reynolds, proving there’s plenty of life left in the old dog yet. Third place went to ever effervescent Stuart Robertson with a gross 77 for a nett 66.

Well done Frank 👍🏻

On Sunday we had the May medal…..

First division winner was Angus Murray with a gross 75 for a nett 69, pipping Richard Murphy by 1 shot.

Well done Gus 👍🏻

Second division was won by James Crichton with a gross 76 for a nett 67, edging out Tommy Duncan snr by 1 shot.

Well done Wee Dan 👍🏻

Third division was won by Ian Lowery with a gross 92 for a nett 72 also winning by 1 shot from Billy Mcfarlane.

Well done Ian 👍🏻

The nearest the pin sponsored by the Glenburn hotel was won by the youngest member of the Smith golf golfing dynasty young Allan Smith jnr.

Well done Allan, big brother Derek is very proud. 👍🏻

We also had a hole in 1 at the 13th yesterday from Iain Simpson, a magnificent 7 iron landed 8 feet from the pin and tracked into the hole, unlike the lucky thin that big Malky is telling everyone it was 😂.

Ironically Iain’s family sponsor the 13th hole for a hole in 1 in memory of their dad John, and is the first person to to get one in a medal competition since the sponsorship started 4 years ago. So his brothers and sisters now owe him either a gallon of whiskey or the cash equivalent 😂😂.

Pictured below is Iain receiving his gallon of whiskey from club captain Derek Smith.

The knockout competitions are in the process of being done, all ties in all competitions will be confirmed by tomorrow night, thanks
