Why is it so freaking hard to get tradesmen? They arrange to come around then don’t show up or they show up then don’t quote, you chase them up and they are “waiting on stock prices” and 3 months later you still haven’t heard from them ? 🤬

Storm Dave (not welcome) is hitting the UK this weekend, but inside The Pocket baize is as green as summer grass, there’s sunshine beaming from every pint, and heating turned up like it’s July.

If the roofers did their job, the only thing pouring will be the drinks. If not… well, it’s a fully immersive British weather experience, bring a brolly🍻

*IMPORTANT NOTICE*
From April no under 18’s will be permitted unless accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.
Any under 18’s playing pool or snooker on a regular basis will need to pick up a form and apply for a card. Cards are not for bringing other friends into The Pocket.
This is for pool or snooker players only and not just general admission into The Pocket.
Any other under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Please pick up a form from any of the bar staff. Fill it in and return it to the bar. A card will be issued within a few days.

WE WILL BE OPERATING A STRICTLY NO CARD NO ENTRY POLICY FOR PLAYERS UNDER 18.
To avoid any players being turned away apply for a card asap.
The Pocket reserves the right to revoke cards or refuse issue.

The usual entry policy stands until April.

Come on guys please sort ya parking out.
Reverse in on both sides in a line up to the walls.
This leaves room in the middle for 2 to 3 more cars.
Car dumping in the middle limits parking spaces, which is not fair on other customers.

To clear up confusion.

Anyone under the age of 16 will not be allowed into The Pocket unless

a) They are supervised at all times by someone aged 18+
b) Groups of kids are not allowed to “hang out” only players around the pools tables.
c) We are introducing an entry card for the existing younger seasoned players who are allowed to play snooker/pool.

I know there are regular players under 18 that have their own cues. These are the ones that will need the cards.
The card is for players only.

We have too many kids turning up and gathering around tables, once their older friends get in. Even more so during school holidays.

Proof of age will be required when challenged.

Good Morning you fine cue-wielding, pint-holding legends.

At long last, finally after discussions the building owners have informed us that the roof is to be repaired. Work starts tomorrow morning (Monday 16th), so expect a bit of tactical manoeuvring in the car park.

Please:
• Park away from the building where you can.
• Keep your eyes peeled.
• And for the love of your alloys, avoid those savage bollards next door.

There may be a bit of disruption outside, but fear not, the important stuff remains untouched.

🎱 Tables will be ready.
🍺 Bar will be open.
☕ The Pocket is operating as usual.

The only thing being repaired is the roof not your break, not your pint, and not your questionable shot selection.
