Meet The Star Team -
Ladies and gents.. meet Ollie!

Head of Looking Far Too Pretty for Pub Work

Currently finishing his A Levels whilst working at The Star — although many of the locals are quietly devastated that his shifts may reduce once education ends and real life begins.

Known for:
Excellent hair.
In fact, probably the best head of hair in Rolvenden.
Frankly it deserves its own staff profile.

Also once smashed a gravy boat… before thoughtfully replacing it as Yvonne’s Secret Santa Christmas present. Which honestly showed excellent recovery skills.

Ollie’s shifts will be increasing over the coming weeks, much to the delight of the customers who apparently now arrange pub visits suspiciously around his rota.

Loves:
His hair, a good atmosphere and a properly poured pint.

Dislikes:
Spain football, overly foamy pints, IPA and probably being asked where he’s “really going after A Levels” for the 400th time.

Usually found:
Adjusting his hair once before service and then pretending he doesn’t care about it afterwards.

Pub superpower:
Can charm customers into waiting another five minutes for food without anybody actually minding.

Meet The Star Team -
Here we have Finn!

Head of DIY, Good Tunes & “That’ll Do”
The baby of the The Star family and genuinely one of the nicest people you’ll meet.

Finn works Sundays as pot wash king and Wednesdays as the pub’s resident DIY hero — recently surviving painting the entire garden fencing in absolutely stinking heat without actually complaining. Much.

Affectionately known as:
“Mr Slapdash.”

Loves:
Gardening, playing guitar, chatting to absolutely anybody and having one of the most eclectic music tastes known to mankind.

Proud supporter of Chelsea F.C. — which he will happily defend despite the rest of the pub football chaos.

Dislikes:
Any football team that isn’t Chelsea and probably people touching paint before it’s dry.

Usually found:
Covered in paint, carrying something heavy or deep in conversation with customers whilst technically meant to be doing another job.

Pub superpower:
Can turn a five minute job into a full village conversation.

Meet The Star Team -
Here is Taryn...

Director of Straight Talking & Quiche Protection

You’ll find Taryn at The Star on alternative Wednesdays and Tuesday nights — usually serving drinks, avoiding unnecessary conversation and wondering why she agreed to work in hospitality.

Known for her dark, dry sense of humour and the kind of honesty that people ask for… until they actually get it.

Loves:
Dogs, peace and quiet and eating her quiche in peace.

Dislikes:
People.
Being interrupted.
And being asked questions if you don’t actually want the answer.

Usually found:
Halfway through a bite of quiche whilst someone (Jimmy) asks for another pint “when you’ve got a minute.”

Pub superpower:
Can silence a room with one look whilst still pulling a perfect pint.

Meet The Star Team -
Now we have Chloe...(on the right, her mum on the left)

Head of Looking Glamorous Whilst Carrying Breakfast Plates

Daughter of Danielle, granddaughter of Lynn and proof that working at The Star is apparently hereditary.

Chloe works Friday nights and Saturday breakfasts whilst somehow surviving A Levels (nearly done!) early starts and the occasional chaotic pub shift with remarkable levels of calm.

A super smart cookie and absolute beauty queen, usually spotted looking effortlessly put together whilst everyone else is wondering where Table 6’s ketchup has gone.

Loves:
Clothes, fashion and probably buying things online she absolutely does not need.

Dislikes:
Public conversations about politics, raised voices and unnecessary drama before she’s had breakfast.

Usually found:
Quietly judging the situation whilst being considerably more organised than most of the adults around her.

Pub superpower:
Can carry a full breakfast plate without spilling a bean. Which, frankly, deserves recognition.

Meet The Star Team -
Next is Amie (on the left, her lovely mate Nick on the right)

Director of Quiet Chaos & Surprise Karaoke Solos

You’ll usually find Amie working evenings at The Star on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sunday nights — often somehow balancing approximately four jobs, a social life and being permanently busy.

Dancer, dog lover and yet another loyal Arsenal F.C. supporter added to the increasingly dangerous football divide at The Star.

Known for:
Her tiny whispery voice and being one of the quieter members of the team… right up until karaoke starts...At that point, somebody usually has to physically remove the microphone from her possession.

Loves:
Arsenal, dogs, dancing and “just one more song.”

Dislikes:
Bad karaoke, Arsenal losing and probably people asking “can you speak up?” every five minutes.

Usually found:
Quietly getting on with everything whilst the rest of the pub descends into chaos around her.

Pub superpower:
Can go from barely audible to full main-stage performance in under 3 seconds.

Meet The Star Team -
Next up... Emma

Head of Lunchtime Chaos & Children’s Entertainment - Known lovingly as “Dil-Emma”, she’s an absolute favourite with the kids and somehow has the patience of a saint… despite working in a pub.

You’ll find Emma at The Star on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays — mainly multitasking, laughing and trying not to drop anything important.

Proud mum, professional chatterbox and reigning Queen of Clumsy. Also answers to:
“Little Miss Break It.”

Loves:
Kids, busy lunches and customers who say “don’t worry about it” when something inevitably gets knocked over.

Dislikes:
Complicated orders involving seventeen alterations, five allergies and somebody asking if the quiche is gluten free, dairy free, vegan and locally sourced, made by God himself.

Usually found:
Talking to children, carrying ketchup, saying ‘MIND THE STEP’ or apologising because something has fallen over nearby.

Pub superpower:
Can trip over absolutely nothing whilst still somehow keeping hold of the drinks.

Meet The Star Team -
First up… Danielle (the one on the right, husband Rob on the left)

Head of Friday 5 o’clock club
Lynn & Mick’s daughter. Also known as: Dan, Dani, “have you seen where…?” and unofficial Rolvenden Tigers liaison officer.

Proud mum of two, wife to Rob, St Michael’s Primary TA and part of the team at Rockits Sensory — which basically means she survives almost entirely on caffeine, patience and is known for always being happy.

You’ll usually find Danielle at The Star on Friday nights, some Saturdays and alternate Sundays… mainly keeping the pub, customers and occasionally the staff in order.

Loves:
Arsenal F.C., walking, Chapel Down, Old Dairy Brewery and pretty much ALL music.

Dislikes:
Rude people, impolite people and anyone standing at the bar saying “I ordered ages ago” when it’s been approximately 11 seconds.

Usually found:
Doing 14 jobs at once whilst somehow still knowing exactly who ordered the cheesy chips.

Pub superpower:
Can hear the food bell ring from three villages away.
