Whilst we make the final preparations for England's first game into the World Cup we have made the decision to close the pub tomorrow (Monday 15th).
We look forward to welcoming you all back Tuesday 16th at our normal opening time of 12:00PM and we hope you all look forward to seeing England kick things off this coming Wednesday!

Apologies for the long winded post but this cannot be directly messaged to anonymous accounts.

We appreciate that our pub has had a different reputation in the past, and some local residents may have become accustomed to quieter periods when past licencees were struggling.

However, we're pleased to say that the pub is now thriving and once again serving as a successful community venue. We believe this is something worth celebrating, as a successful pub helps preserve a valued local asset and reduces the likelihood of the building being lost to alternative developments, such as conversion into housing or an HMO.

Pubs are social spaces that have always been part of the character of our community. While we are committed to being considerate neighbours and operating responsibly, some level of activity is a natural part of a well-supported local pub.

We would also gently remind people that when choosing to live near an established pub, its future success and popularity are always possibilities. The pub's previous quieter periods should never have been assumed to be permanent.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us. We're proud to see the pub busy again and look forward to remaining a positive part of the community for many years to come 🍻
