Built way back in 1796, our old pub has seen more than two centuries of life up on the moors.

And over the years, there have been plenty of stories told about what might still linger within these old walls...

Served alongside another proper pub favourite, Sausage and Mash.

It's the people who have been coming here for years.
It's meeting someone who's never been before and watching them discover the place.
And it's knowing that after more than 200 years, this little pub is still here on the moors, welcoming people through the door. ❤️

“Eight children… and a pub to run!”

John and Betty Ashworth (Owd Bett) had EIGHT children.

Imagine running a pub while bringing up eight children! And we thought it was tough with two!😂

Several generations of the Ashworth family went on to run Owd Betts.
This place really was a family business long before the phrase was invented.
