Please read 🙏🙏🙏
Firstly, sorry for the selfie, and my wife is going to kill me for posting it 😁
Secondly, thank you so so much for the overwhelming amount of positive support since we announced it on Thursday evening. Its flipping unreal! ❤️
I just want to give you an update on why there was a delay announcing the festival.
As some of you know, the stroke I had in November 2025 made holding the festival quite a challenge.
But we did it.
And it was amazing.
Not just because of the support from friends and family, but because of you as well.
Now, I know this might seem like I’m making things all about me, but I also think it’s really important to show our children, and maybe a few adults too, that being positive, genuine, and open is how you build real community and connection.
Last year took its toll on me and our family. But it was also the highlight of the year, and a massive part of my recovery.
I think it actually turns out that Rhuddfest props me up just as much as I build it. And I’m forever grateful that we have it, for me, my family, and for everyone involved.
As much as I was planning to get the 2026 event up and running nice and early, in January my busy little brain gave me another reminder that it can’t quite handle the pressure I put on it, and I ended up going through a tough time again.
Obviously, festival plans got put on the back burner so I could get some rest.
Two months went by, and all the messages started to roll in asking if there will be a festival this year. But, as you’d expect, at that point it was too much.
However, as we approached April, and my 45th birthday, I realised that if there’s anything I want to do with all this energy rattling around inside me, it’s this.
To create more opportunities for people to feel the roots of where we live.
I don’t just mean in North Wales. I mean the roots of who and what we are, through families, friends, and even strangers, connecting with each other and sharing amazing memories.
I know for sure these issues I’ve had with my brain are just a reminder that I need to listen to it a bit more, pace myself better, and not try to do everything at once.
But one thing I do know is this…
What I get out of Rhuddfest, and what I know so many of you do as well, makes it all absolutely worth it!
If you’ve been to the festival before, you’ve felt it.
You’re part of the family now, and if you’re joining us again this time, then please, get your tickets today.
Save yourself a few quid for getting them early.
And let’s get ready to do all of this again.
Because what better way is there to be alive?
To be here.
Relax.
And enjoy each others company.
This is what Rhuddfest is all about.
So yes, we’ve decided to do it.
And we’re going to smash it.
But most importantly, we’re all going to have the most amazing time while we do it.
Thank you so much 🙏
