We thought we would share a brief update, but firstly we wanted to thank you for all your kind messages and thoughts regarding Valpy’s.

During the intervening period, The Cellar has been born. Our friends at The Cellar have been trading for a few weeks and we are very pleased to say have recruited the majority of the staff that previously worked at Valpy’s.

Dear Valpys guests

It is with great sadness that we have made the very difficult decision to close Valpy Street Bar and Bistro with immediate effect.

As you will be aware the hospitality industry has become increasingly tough and sadly Valpys is no exception. We are still feeling the impacts generated by Covid, the cost of living crisis, increases in food, drink and power costs and numerous other factors which have made this decision necessary.

We have endeavoured, over many months, to find a way but the combined impacts alongside an extremely costly error by our previous accountant have left us no other option but to close our doors.

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support over the last 10 years and thank you for being an irreplaceable part of the Valpys community.

Rabble Theatre Henry 1 banquet night. What a pleasure serving these lovely people an authentic 1100’s feast. They’re now off to see the best show in town so if you haven’t seen it book now before you can’t.

We hosted the IBB call my bluff wine tasting last night. Lovely people who seemed to enjoy all our wines other than the Provence!
