SLEEP, EAT, ESCAPE 🌿

We absolutely love seeing one of our penguins keeping The Piggery cosy at this beautiful eco retreat on the LlÅ·n Peninsula. Over the last eight years they’ve transformed an old farm into a place where people can slow down, switch off and reconnect with nature ✨🌾

So good to celebrate local businesses creating spaces that feel this special šŸ¤

If your oven shelves are covered in baked on food and grease, this one’s for youšŸ‘€

Replacing your stove glass is quick and easy! šŸ”§

There are two types of glazing, single and double, depending on the model and door type (cast or steel). To replace your stove glass, take the door off and rest it on a surface that will protect the handle.

Single: The glass is held in place with retaining bars. Remove the bars, position the replacement glass, tighten the screws just enough to pinch the glass. Over tightening can cause the glass to crack. Check that the glass seal (the flat rope 2mm x 10mm, between the glass and stove body) is intact. If worn that can be replaced at the same time.

Double: The glass is held in place with retaining channels and screws. Remove the screws and the channels, position the replacement glass, ensure the between-glass-seals are in place, re-fit retaining channels and tighten screws just enough to pinch the glass. Over tightening can cause the glass to crack.

Rope seals will need replacing during your stove’s lifetime
It is important to check them at least annually to see if the seal is worn or broken.

To replace the rope seal please follow the steps below:

1. Take the loading door (the glass door) off, the other doors can be done in situ.
2. Remove as much of the old rope seal and old glue as possible with course sand paper.
3. Lie the new rope seal in the groove to see how much you need, if it is not pre-cut to size already.
4. Remove the rope seal and apply the glue in a series of blobs about 3 inches/8cm apart.
5. Press the rope seal into the groove making sure you do not stretch it.
6. Place some weight (a couple of books) on the seals for approx. 1 hour before you close the doors and replace the loading door.
